My daughter bought perfume from a seller in Canada with 100% feedback, lots of sales.
When the item received, the seller sent the wrong brand of perfume. Contacted seller, who said that she mixed up two orders from Toronto. Seller then requested that we mail the perfume to the person in Toronto who actually ordered it, and that person would do the same, and mail their wrong order to us.
Here's my thoughts on this.
1. It will cost almost 12 bucks to ship with delivery confirmation.
2. If my daughter does not receive her item, and didn't return to the seller, then what?
How should we proceed with this? Thanks.

Shipping to the other buyer is seller's cost.
(1) Seller should make a refund equal to the cost of shipping to the other buyer.
(2) If the cost of shipping to the other buyer is higher than the original cost, item plus shipping, paid by your daughter... seller should start anew and ship new to each buyer... and forget about the mistake.
(3) Or perhaps the best option.... Seller forgets about the mistake and mails the correct perfume to each buyer...

Option 3 is most likely the best option....
Moreso if the perfume is not expensive... or the cost of shipping is higher than the cost of the perfume
and if the seller is not sure what to do... suggest they come visit this discussion....

"How should we proceed with this?"
Unless it is a very expensive perfume, I suggest your daughter contacts the seller and decline the suggestion to ship to another buyer unless postage is refunded by seller who made the mistake.
Alternatively, it would make sense for the seller - who made the mistakes - to simply send your daughter and the other buyer a replacement at no charge.
Finally, I suggest your daughter withhold leaving feedback until the matter is settled to her complete satisfaction (please let your daughter know she should NOT mention "feedback" in her communication with the seller)..

My daughters perfume was $30, the perfume she received cost $50. The seller isn't going to take a $90 loss, plus additional shipping. I can't say I blame her.
Anyway, she has emailed my daughter, said she will ship her perfume Monday, and also send to her paypal the cost of shipping to mail the incorrect item back to her. So the problem is fixed, with no additional costs.
Thanks for the responses.

"The seller isn't going to take a $90 loss"
???
Actually, looking at it from the seller's perspective, it would not be that bad. The loss to the seller is not the selling price value ($90) of the perfume but the actual purchase cost to the seller.
Since the seller would have to pay postage to both buyers to reship their items, there would have been no additional shipping charge.
In any case, I am glad to read that a solution is on its way.

It sounds to me as if the seller did the right thing by both parties. This is probably what I would have done, rather than relying on another buyer to send the correct item to your daughter.
This probably demonstrates why your seller has a good eBay reputation, with 100% positive FB. This is the sort of proper resolution we all like to see - glad it worked out for you.

All worked out fine, the correct perfume on the way, and the wrong one shipped back to return to seller... everyone is happy now.
