P.O. boxes vs street address

Isn't ebay and Paypal against a seller having a P.O.box #?

Are they not more for a user havng a street address? I do know that someone living in a rural area mostly have a P.O.box #.

Not that I am aware of.  I have used a PO Box for over twenty years and it has not affected my sales on eBay negatively.

A PO box is MORE secure than a street address.

Anyone could walk up on my porch and empty my  mailbox or grab the parcel the postie tucks behind the screen door.

With a post box, only the PO staff or my key can access the box. In addition, the area is dry and climate controlled.

Worst of both worlds would be the SuperMailboxes, which are unsupervised, and not perfectly weatherproof.

Bonus for Canadians buying from the USA, UPS and other couriers will refuse parcels to PO boxes, and thus the buyer avoids the onerous "customs brokerage fee".

It does NOT always work that way.

I often receive parcels sent by UPS, DHL or Fed-Ex addressed to my PO box.  I usually get a phone call from the courrier to confirm my street address so delivery can take place.

Fees and taxes are them collected on delivery as usual (or invoice in the mail a month later for FedEx).

We've gotten mail in a supermailbox for about 8 years now and have never had a problem. Perhaps there are more hooligans in Ottawa than here. :^O
