It seems there are a few of us on eBay who love quilts - make quilts - collect quilts - live and breath and talk quilts.....so here is a thread for any who do.

This will be a place to discuss, show off, ask questions and/or answer them.

Please remember though - eBay's policies do not allow for self promotion/advertising our auctions.

Sooooo - :-x who's first to confess they have more fabric than their friends or husband think they really need? Besides me, that is.

I've started a list of my UFO's (oi!!) and I've set some goals for January ... I can't even think about starting anything new until I get some older stuff cleared up, lol, and no more fabric unless I need it for something I'm specifically working on. I am SO bad at finishing things!!! This is what I relax with when I'm not in UFO mode - http://chasenbach.tripod.com/garten/gardenbom.html :).
I'm assembling the July Bird's Nest block now -- it had 24 sub-units - the rose block had 36!!!

Timeechoprints - how did you do those fuzzy hearts - I love 'em!!! I've been stacking up a pile of projects that all need to be stippled (it's a pain setting up the sewing machine and then changing it back, lol) - one of these days I'll be going on a stippling frenzy 🙂 The cat better watch out ... HA!!

Oh here's an "FO" --- I made about 6 fleece hats for hubby, the boys, and even the lad across the street, lol. Not all of them were jester hats tho - some were just the plain toque type 🙂

Yes gloria...each heart has about 5 or 6 colors from the same color family and then I used 3 or 4 different threads on each to add more contrast. You could do it so the thread matches and isn't really seen but I find it adds so more more depth to add more contrast. I stipple very tightly to catch as much of the bits as I can and then trim around the edge to redefine the shape. You can cut up bits of lase and thread for the hearts too - whatever ya have!!

Doesn't have to be hearts either - I did an outline of a teddy bear and it was awesome. I have a whole jumbo ziplock of bit to use so I think I will find all sorts of things to try!

Got the top done of the next rendition of fuzzy hearts...pattern is done in country prints but I was looking for something different and delved into my batik stash to coordinate with my hand dyed.....

Oh, man, everything posted so far is so beautiful! I think I should be honest and say I collect fabric. I love it, love to play with it...sort it...Sometimes I make quilts and fabric art. Would any of you be interested in doing some kind of fun project together, like we all make stipple hearts and sent them to one person, or we all find gorgeous fabric and make those fans, or do a round robin, where we each start a quilt, and send it on to the next person to add in something. I've been watching this thread, but have been too intimidated to write in, it seems like you all know each other...but I really want to connect with other quiltmakers, and also spur myself on to do more work on my quilts. I'll try to borrow a camera and post a pic of my current project5. Piecing plus applique. Lots of love to all

Don't feel intimidated because we all seem to know each other. Some of those in this thread have only been around a short while.

Welcome blaclberrywillow! I haven't been around long either but everyone makes you feel so at home you become friends with everyone immediately! And with quilts in common....well...we have lots to talk about!

It would be wonderful to get this thread moving with lots of chatter and projects and pictures!! I keep saying I'm gonna take pictures of some of my stuff but then I don't...it's fun to share and see what everyone else is doing. I keep threatening gloria with a picture of my thread collection...but it's almost embarrassing to think how much thread I have and I've already sold tons...TONS...on ebay! And fabric OMG - I have fabric!

Gloria is giving me picture resizing lessons later so for practice I will post a picture of some of my stash!
