It seems there are a few of us on eBay who love quilts - make quilts - collect quilts - live and breath and talk quilts.....so here is a thread for any who do.

This will be a place to discuss, show off, ask questions and/or answer them.

Sooooo - :-x who's first to confess they have more fabric than their friends or husband think they really need? Besides me, that is.

Check with your airline about what's allowed and not on the plane...some are allowing plastic crochet hooks and knitting needles, others aren't.

Hope you have the most relaxing and fun time you've ever had Gloria...we'll be thinking of you and envying you the warm Panama sun as we sit here freezing our toes off.

I won't try to get the quilting on the plane but I did find a kid's plastic crochet hook at Walmart. I may take some wool and try that.

The museum was fantastic with lifelike exhibits of all aspects of Seminole life.
The most prized possession were the man's gun and the womans's hand operated sewing machine.

Seminole patchwork was the first strip piece patchwork I tried in the early 80's...I think it was a Georgia Bonesteel tv segment I was watching and I folowed her directions.

I love anything historical like that...that's why we're going to enjoy old Quebec City.

Decided I needed a change from kaleidoscope blocks for a bit so I started making more 3 inch square paper pieced mini quilt blocks. I just keep browsing through my books and magazines and deciding on which ones I like and if I want to make any changes....then I root through my stash and check what I have hanging in several closets (I found the 2 clip skirt hangers perfect for hanging fabric lengths to keep them from getting creases).

I loved the boat - used a Mumm wood plank and then some hand dyed pieces for Red Sails in the Sunset and I even found a FQ of the teeniest, tiniest red bricks for the house and added a fussy cut heart garland in the window.

Forgot how much fun my minis are.

Sanks Krysta - the heart and vines garland are from a 1 inch square charm square swap I was in with my miniature quilt group before we finally disbanded after 4 years. I have a sandwich bag full of them.

3 inch square blocks almost feel BIG after I've been working with my real miniature blocks. 🐵

Hi Nancy - for the fans I used a special wedge shaped ruler - 18 degrees for 5 blade fans and 15 degrees for 6 blade fans....for the squares with corners missing I used the 45 degree tool...all by Bethany Reynolds though I hear that Marti Mitchel has designed one as well with some extra markings on them to cut the corner triangles to match.

Stack n Whack Tutorial by someone who made an online diary of the class using the pinwheel design - measurements, instructions and pictures galore and you only need a square and a long ruler for tools plus fabric with contrast and lots of repeats in the design.
