Seller sends JUNK item and buyer is on the hook for shipping back

Recently I bought a "Star Projector Laser Nightlight" type product, it cost some $8 + $5 shipping. What I received is an absolute junk piece of crap, plastic housing with old flashlight bulb, filament type, whole think is not worth $0.01. Obviously misrepresented item, some unsaleable junk that they picked up in China, and reselling at high cost from USA. Now to ship it back it would cost me another $10 and hope to get my original payment back. HOW THE HELL Ebay allows these morons to exist with HIGHEST EBAY RATING although they do have 450 NEGATIVE feedbacks in the last moth alone??? (should have seen that before buying). These guys are obviously ripping people off at every opportunity. I decided to chuck the stuff in garbage and leave them negative feedback, and HOPE they lose business, although thanks to Ebay policies, they are happily allowed to exist and do whatever they want, as long as Ebay is happy with their fees. Imagine how many people just do the same, and every time these guys EARN $10 or so. Just my rant for Friday. Makes me feel a little better.

What you described is not unusual and it's also one of the most difficult ebay situations for a  buyer to deal with.

This is a problem that I encounter with TRSs as often as I do with sellers whose FB is anything but stellar.

Return shipping with tracking will cost more than  $10 and probably closer to $16.

Chances are very high that a seller who will sell you junk, will also claim the item didn't arrive unless you ship with tracking...........

So you're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

A lot of $$$$$ is spent shipping garbage back and forth between buyers and sellers.

For a buyer, it's a no win situation and just part of the cost of buying on ebay.
