Hi guys, this was so funny I just had to share it.
This client buys a bikini and never pays so I kindly ask for the money or I will relist.
Apparently her mom had a stroke so I told her take your time.

The following week she tells me she will pay soon but her sister that was expecting twins lost the male twin.
Once again take your time and she finally paid.

Guess who decides to buy from me again???
1 week has passed and I tell her payment is due or I will relist the bikini.
This week she finds out she has luekemina (wrong spelling)and tells me she will pay tonight and I said fine, thanks.
The first story I fell for but after story number 2 and 3 I had to laugh.

I hope it never happened, but who has time to shop on ebay when they just found out they have cancer!

Well to put in my own 2 cents, I agree with calling someone out. Lying is like a disease. Once someone starts down the lying path it is hard to crawl back out. I think sunshine may have done this buyer a favor by letting her know she was as transparent as a window. Maybe the buyer will think twice about telling a tall tale to the next person she buys from. Most times lying hides an embarrassing truth for the fabricator.

I would personally feel better knowing my buyer had to wait until the end of the month for a social assistance cheque to come in than to hear a story about accidentally getting sucked into a wormhole where the rain tasted like Tim Horton's Coffee and money grew out of the ground and right when you bent over to pick some up you got sucked back into the wormhole and ended up a week in the future so that's why you didn't pay on time...

I too am tired of promises to pay and excuses as to why they are not paying. I had a buyer purchase a Swarovski figurine for over $400 on March 21st. I immediately received an email saying he would pay by the end of the week. I waited for 5 days to pass (the time which I specified payment was due) and emailed him again saying payment was due that day. He emailed to say he would pay the next evening for sure. Of course, there was no payment so I emailed saying I wanted payment that day or I would file a Dispute. He promised to pay by Thursday night ... but alas, no payment. Today he says he promises to pay early next week. Well, I had promised to file a dispute, which I did thismorning. Now lets see if he can keep at least one of his promises and actually pay me. I told him he has until the dispute offers me my FVF and then his time is up. I even offered not to file the dispute if he made a small deposit through paypal to show his intent to pay was sincere. Of course, he did not do that either. His excuse all along has been "I had some issues this week". What the heck does that mean?

i've been doing collections for the last 15 yrs (part time for the last 6 yrs), and 98% of the time, far winded 'excuses' are just that...excuses. two percent of the time, people's stories are true. debtor's worst trait is bad communication skills. i never have a problem with someone who can't pay right away, as long as they keep me in the loop. people who don't pay and ignore you is my biggest beef and pet peeve, and in my opinion, deserve further action. i bet sunshine has been doing this long enough to recognize those who are sincere and those who aren't. (although, yes...there's always that slim chance). communication on our part is equally important, if we give the debtor a deadline, we should stick to it, or they won't take us (or future sellers) seriously...

Thank heavens some of you agree with me!

Thanks Kat and everyone who agrees with me. Yes I have been doing this long enough to know whose for real and who isn't.
I'm sure some of you can relate to the stories we hear.

My biggest pet peeve is people who lie like her and think I'm stupid enough to believe her!I did it so she will think twice before trying it with another seller.I'm sure no other seller had the courage to do what I did. Hopefully I saved the next seller a headache.
