Very small item shiping tips PLEASE! Canada Post Expedited minimum dimensions

any suggestions?  I often build a small box and put item in plastic bubble envelope that meets the minimums.  I did once though have a buyer upset with this method though item arrived safely.

I use sheet cardboard and custom make my own boxes. Fill the voids with styrofoam and wraqp with bubble. Looks better to the customer and is way safer.

How small is very small?

Like bracelet charms? ULine and other online suppliers will have the small boxes that are used for jewelry.

And at Christmas, ask for the tiny gift boxes from your relatives, I have a stash of those in my jewelry cabinet. Free is free.

Also check Boxing Day sales at the drugstore and dollar store for appropriate boxes.  Nothing too obviously Christmassy but metallics are timeless. There are lightweight card boxes that fold into a sort of oval cylinder.

Given the value of your items, it is worth while going with professional boxes, rather than making your own. There's thrifty and there's cheap. Go too cheap and your product loses its value in the buyer's eyes.

Some people look for opportunities to get upset. We can only politely add those to our Blocked Bidder Lists.

http://catalog.uline.ca/WebProject.asp?CodeId=7.7.4.7&BookCode=ksc13flx&PageLabel=160

and cost between 60 cents and $1.25 each. Worth it on a $300 order , less so on a $10 order.

I assume you're referring to packages that you want to be less than 2cm in depth? I normally use a bubble envelope with no box. I often give the item a little extra protection with a layer of bubble wrap or tissue. Or..if something might bend in the mail, I've used the hard envelopes that people use for pictures.(stay flats?) or a piece in cardboard in the bubble envelope. One problem with the stay flats is they're heavier so they might push the weight of the package up to the next level.

I've only had one person comment that I should have used a box so as long as an item arrives safely, most people don't seem to mind if there is a box or not.
