Just had this email from a buyer, a first for me, but I am not sure what to do. It was sent tracked package.
I checked on Paypal and the zip code was correct, not the one the post office is telling her. What can I do if it does come back to me? The mistake is not Canada Post's, or mine.

Hi triber, I had one something like yours last year just after PayPal separated from eBay. I shipped to the address given on PayPal and it was an address that the buyer had never heard of, it was in another state from hers. I called eBay and PayPal, they both said I had shipped to the correct address and the buyer called them as well. PayPal agreed it wasn't her shipping address and couldn't figure out where it had come from. I didn't have to refund but I believe she was refunded by PayPal themselves. Can't help you really but obviously mistakes do happen with PayPal addresses sometimes. Have you checked the address on the USPS site? And maybe google map it too.
Well, as long as you sent to the address PayPal gave you you are covered anyway. Still, it's hard convincing the buyer that it's not your error.

If it shows delivered to any address, you are covered, provided it was the one in the Paypal shipping.
Go to PP and if you can, send her a screenshot of the paid invoice with the 'incorrect' address. This is purely public relations, since you are not going to lose an Item Not Received dispute.
Ask if she has ever used a 'gift' address. It may be her Auntie Mary's from the time she sent a present for Cousin Bertha's baby shower two years ago.
If it goes to the wrong address, the receiver may reject and and "return to sender" in which case you owe her the selling price, although it is up to you whether you refund shipping.
Your customer's email was redacted by the mods, so we can no longer see what she said.

It was not delivered to the one on Paypal, that one was correct. The buyer told me that she saw on the tracking that it has been delivered to the new address, they changed the zip code. They checked with their post office, and was told that it has been sent to a different zip code. She has no idea why, and we don't know where the package is.
Should I call Paypal or just wait and see what happens? It was mailed on March 8th, so it has been 14 days.

that she saw on the tracking that it has been delivered
Frankly I have a low opinion of what the tracking might say.
Too many 'human' errors.
I suspect that the guy typing in the zipcode made the mistake. Then the machinery sprayed the barcode on the package.
At some point the letter carrier looks at the address.
If someone somewhere has changed the address from '123 Anywhere St. AnyhowTown, CA 90210' to 123 AnywhereSt. AnyhowTown, CA 21090" the letter carrier will know that the zipcode is wrong because there is not AnyhowTown in that zipcode and it is not the zipcode for California in any case.
I'll take humans who can read and have common sense over machines any day.
Now, the parcel may be in zipcode 21090 at the moment, but the postal workers will correct it and send it to the right code.
Perhaps you can reword all that and reassure your customer.

Have you looked at the tracking info yourself to see which zip code it was 'delivered' to?
Is it possible that the zip code that is being shown is the zip code of the post office in that area? It seems to me I've heard of something like that happening before and in that situation, the parcel was eventually delivered to the correct place.
There's not much you or Paypal can do right now but the buyer can and should phone their post office to ask them about it.

Just curious, is the zip code the item was sent to in Kentucky?
It's a transfer station where they send the mail to be sorted and sent out again.
I found it as one of my Paypal addresses (while editing the change in my address) and had it removed. Then I looked it up via Google since the Paypal agent didn't recognise it.

Yes, I have checked it says that the item has been redirected to the recipients new address. She doesn't have a new address, she hasn't moved!
pjcdn no, it was Illinois.
