Just received this "still no civil war 1 9.8 paid for a month ago...what about feedback. I would hate to disturb your 100 % feedbqack"
He only has 6 feedback and the comic was shipped out to him two weeks ago, not a month ago like he states. He won it on the 8th and took four days to pay. Everyone else I shipped to at the same time received theirs yesterday and left feedback. I'm sick of buyers with no feedback threatening mine. Uncanny that he sends this email the day after everyone receives their goods.
I wonder if this is gonna turn into a claim??? I don't need to worry though, ebay will look after me like they always look after the sellers interest first, won't they?

Don't let this silly threat rile your feathers....he'll probably receive the item soon and leave positive feedback. Just reply with a tracking number, the date you shipped on, and how long it usually takes.

Who protects the seller????

I'm assuming this is a customer in the U.S. My packages usually take up to 15 business days(yes 15 days) to arrive using CPs expedited service. I tell(especially newbies) this info when I ship. Many don't understand international shipping schedules and that items have to clear customs. Some customers seem to believe items can be "Beamed".... Hey Scotty!;-)

make sure as well that you continue to respond and communicate with this guy through ebay's messaging system, so if he continues to threat in any way, report him to ebay. i'm still trying to figure out what ebay/paypal will deem is necessary enough proof that a buyer has received their parcel, so we can start doing it. they tell us they need proof of delivery, yet, offer no method of proving delivery. in that aspect, every package we send out is a potential risk with no protection from anyone.

There is nothing to report to ebay, there is no rule against threatening negs for not receiving an item.

Proof of delivery is online tracking showing it was delivered. CP expedited/xpresspost, or courier. Nothing else matters, and that is only relevant if the other terms of SPP are followed too.

~partial hijack~

Kat, PayPal requires proof of delivery. That means some sort of online proof that the item has been delivered to the customer, a tracking number or delivery confirmation number is all they want/need. For items over $250 US they also require a signature.

As a note, because many don't seem to get this, the only service Canada Post offers that has Delivery Confirmation is Expedited, Xpresspost and Purolator. The number you get when shipping Small Packet or Light Packet is NOT a tracking number despite what the paper says. It's only a number for CP's internal system if the package goes missing. It means nothing other than that.

Courier companies like FedEx, UPS and such offer true tracking numbers showing various points along the journey. PP also accepts those. Anything that they can go online to check if it's been delivered or not.

Hope that helps
~resume discussion~

Paul, ignore the crack about the feedback. Some people don't know how to speak. Yell at the computer but ignore it. Only address the package time issue and reiterate Canada, shipping times, US Customs etc etc etc. Hope it works out!!

Oh, it'll work out I'm sure. I'm not refunding money until after 75 days now. I spoke with Canda Post about a missing package and they told me you can't claim within 75 days and then you need an email off the purchaser stating the item still hasn't arrived. I'll take the neg with a smile and move on. Just wanted to vent!!!

Thanks all.

Side note...Andrew, picked up 10,000 comics last night, most never read. Some gems in there. Email with a wish list and I'll give em you discounted. (pmanning1@cogeco.ca)

i found the comment that i was refering to, taken from future_tech's post about canada post and paypal seller protection policy, i think back in january:

According to PAYPAL - the FEDEX DIRECT SIGNATURE would be the most favorable proof to have rather than a signature of someone other than the buyer since the buyer can still claim thy did not receive the item.

so which is it? if i send something expedited with a tracking number (signature not required), and cp shows item is delivered, that's good enough for paypal?
and if i send something signature required, and buyer states he never received, yet there's a signature on file, there's no way to prove it was buyer's signature, so i could potentially lose?

i should probably call paypal and really clarify all these conditions floating around in my head...

Yep, call PayPal to be sure. 🙂

As far as I know if only delivery confirmation is required and the item shows as being delivered but customer says no, you win as far as PP is concerned.

If the item is over $250 US PP requires a signature. I believe it must be the sig of the person it's addressed to specifically. I'm not 100% on that one but I think the customer could easily claim that I'm Joe and the sig on the paper is Suzy and that's not me or it's just an illegible scribble. In that instance I would do as FTL suggests and use a service like the Fedex Direct Signature for your protection.

I'm not sure either but a reliable poster (not TAKO) stated that any signature at the delivery address is acceptable.
