Why won't Ebay.ca handle a misleading descrription? Instead they push it to Paypal handle.

For one item which I purchased on Ebay.com, they handled a fraud case quickly and efficiently, they issued a refund. For another item, which I purchased on Ebay.ca, it was pushed through to Paypal to handle this has become the biggest headache!

I received an item which did not match the description. Paypal is asking me to ship the item back with tracking for a refund. Why should I incur shipping charges for a fraudulent seller to refund me? To make matter worse, the shipping cost to return it, is greater than the refund value!

Because that is PP's policy. The buyer pays to return an item. When the buyer shows proof of return, PP will refund the buyer and go after the seller for reimbursement.

PP cannot reimburse your shipping cost, because they do not know your shipping cost.

PP will accept that you are unhappy with the product but will not take your word that the product is misdescribed or counterfeit. Since you don't want the product and do want your money back, a return is necessary.

When you return an item to WalMart , do they pay your bus fare to get to the mall?

If the item came from Asia, this is part of the learning curve of mail order (not just eBay).

If it seems too good to be true, that's because it is too good to be true. If the price is low, the product is cheaply made.

And part of the cost of buying overseas, is the cost of occasional returns.

Would it surprise you to know that some buyers who have complained that an item was not as described/faulty would suddenly want to keep the not a described/faulty item if the seller refunded the shipping costs before getting the item back? It is more risky for a seller to refund completely or send shipping cost if they haven't recieved the item yet. You as the buyer have 100% buyer protection within the first 45 days after end of sale. The seller doesn't have such protection from dishonest buyers who would keep the item after getting a refund or shipping costs returned.

Non payers should get unpaid item strikes and be added to block bidders lists. Period.
