Your seller performance is below standard

Hi All,

Yes, I received two e-mails from our boss today. The first one states:

Alerts
•Your performance is below eBay standards in USA.

***Ship promptly and manage buyer expectations***
Shipping promptly means buyers get their item more quickly and are more satisfied.
- Include handing time in your listing to set buyers' expectations.
- Provide updates to the buyers once the item has shipped, including any tracking information (if available
).

And, the second one stating that my listings will receive lower standing in search results.

I don't know how much lower I can get when I'm already at the bottom of the list most times! *LOL*

In my Dashboard it states: Your buyer satisfaction rating is Good
A buyer satisfaction rating of Good ensures that you are eligible for eBay incentives.
And, one of those incentives is a one way ticket to the corner for timeout if I don't behave!

eBay US is on target though! I am the kind of seller that they want to shut down! I have been on eBay 10 years come this September. Currently I have 3980 feedback and have NEVER had a neutral or a negative. I have 19152 left for me. Yes, my buyers are UNHAPPY! I have never had a PayPal case against me. (Except that ghost one in PayPal that not even PayPal knows why it's there!) I have never had a case filed against me for anything!

The fact is....I'm in Canada! And, it is my US buyers that are hurting my business because they just fail to realize that Canada is not a part of the US.

I sell low cost scrapbooking items and I charge full price for shipping. The shipping charges within my listings are shown as PER ITEM but I actually weight and invoice each one of my customers' packages individually. And, they are always thrilled about the shipping cost and when they receive their items they write and tell me that they are shocked how quickly they received their items! And, that they noticed the postmark is the same day as the day they paid...except in those cases where they have paid on a Friday night through the weekend or on a holiday.

Yes, I am the proverbial bad seller out there! I am the one that is giving eBay a BAD NAME! And, all I can say is IF I'M AS BAD AS THAT RED TRIANGLE SAYS I AM....I would like to see what a REALLY BAD SELLER IS! I've thankfully never had that experience!

Oh, well....I must be doing something right! In December I had more than 4000 listings and now I'm at 1186 listings. And, no...I've not ended the listings....they were sold!

I find it ironic that my US customers are the one's who are hitting me and I say this becuase on the US Power Sellers list THEY WHINE AND COMPLAIN about their fellow Americans who hurt their DSR's regarding shipping time!

It's sad when I have sold a quantity of over 3000+ items that I am not meeting eBay's expectations. Thankfully these 3000 + items have brought in an equal number of sales elsewhere so my stock is dwindling down thanks to the suggestions from this board!

Okay....thanks for letting me vent! I had a RED MARK against me and I guess I'll look at it for the next month. Hopefully they will not take my premium store away. If they do then I'll close immediately without warning!

Now to watch GLEE from last night and get in a better mood!

Have a good one everyone! Those Americans can be tough and I say that lovingly because...I'm an American!

Re: Your seller performance is below standard

The problem is that many Americans do not realize that the border is still a safe guarded place so there MAY be delays at times.

That's why it's important to stress to the customer that it's US Customs that is holding the parcel up.

For all of their talk about freedom, the Americans are terrified of their officials - mention of a government department usually quiets them down.

And, the saga continues! As I have mentioned in my previous posts...I feel that it is unfair that a few buyers have caused this to happen because they just don't understand what SHIPPING TIME IS!

Here is the letter that I received this morning at 4:45 AM. And, yes it is in My eBay Messages and has my name Susan Swanson on it.

------------------------------------------

Hello momoftwingles2,

We hope you're enjoying your eBay Store. Unfortunately, we've noticed some changes to your account, and see that you're not meeting the minimum requirements for your store.

To continue with your store subscription, we need you to meet the minimum requirements within the next 60 days. If you don't meet these requirements, your eBay Store subscription may be lowered to the Basic store level. If your store level is lowered, your fees will change and all of your Good 'Til Cancelled listings will renew at the pricing for that level. Also, your bundled subscription discounts, such as Selling Manager Pro, may be affected.

The following store subscription requirements are not being met:

A seller performance that is not below standard, and as of 21/04/2010 at 15:25:38 GMT-07:00 your performance was below standard. See the seller dashboard for more information.

We'll re-evaluate your eBay Store subscription at the end of 60days.

-------------------------------------

This truly made my day start off on the right foot! Hopefuly my stock will have dwindled even more by then as I am hoping to close my store sooner than later. My goal was certainly not to be the *bad* seller in the eyes of anyone when I depart.

Have a good one!

Although there is no selling limit on your account currently, one may be imposed on your account if your detailed seller ratings continue to decline. To avoid selling limits, please improve your selling practices.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS
Ship promptly and manage buyer expectations
Shipping promptly means buyers get their item more quickly and are more satisfied.
•Include handling time in your listing to set buyers' expectations
•Provide updates to the buyers once the item has shipped, including any tracking information (if available)
Learn more about shipping best practices.

I guess I'm having a difficult time understanding all of this becuase I ship out so quickly! Perhaps I need to move into the post office? This just doesn't make any sense to me.

I will see if I can get a REAL supervisor on the phone instead of a pretend one that is sitting next to the rep that I speak to later today.

The hard part is facing an UNKNOWN accuser that can come back and do this all over again. The only thing I know is that this person and or person is from the States. And, as many of my customers buy lots of things at one time...I don't have a clue who it could be. I am coming to the conclusion that it is perhaps ONE buyer and not 14 individual buyers!

Either way....it's scary knowing that buyers have the ability to control IF I receive a discount....that's their opinion rating....but when they have the ability to control IF I have a premium store or a basic store....THAT'S STEPPING OVER THE LINE.

And, I'm sure that I'm not the only person who is going through this.

Thanks all for listening.....

*LOL*

Yes, I do believe that eBay has stepped over the line! When I log into my Dashboard and now my store behind the scenes...there are warnings! There's no peaceful place for me.

I'm bad! What can I say?

To all: ON A MORE FUN NOTE....I just added some photos of three of our four beautiful daughters from the skating carnival that they participated in. Take a peek in my eBay store and you'll see the photo album! Kaitlyn and MacKenzie, our twins, were in one group number and Emi was in three different ones. Emi is in a much higher level of figure skating and is 1/2 the size of the skaters out there.

Enjoy!

This morning I start the day with this in my dashboard:

Your standing based on current criteria Below standard
Your standing based on September 2010 criteria Above standard
Evaluation period (3 months) Feb 01, 2010 to Apr 30, 2010
Number of transactions (3 months) 1165 (U.S. only)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And here's a good one...from last night until today I now have not only 14 1's or 2'1 under SHIPPING TIME...now I have an EQUAL AMOUNT under SHIPPING CHARGES!
And, the feedback that has been left for me over the past week...glowing!
Go figure!
