I have come across some situations where the handling fees for combined shipping seems to excessive especially when multiple items have been purchased. I have found that when purchasing a large volume with a high "handling charge" for each item the shipping can be rather excessive. For example upon purchasing 40 low cost items the shipping for one item was $7 and each there after was 1.78 which made the total shipping and handling came to over $75. The actual shipping was $12. That is a whopping profit of 63+ on shipping/handling considering the items came in a small envelope with a one sheet of bubble wrap. . When I question the seller about the handling fees per item I got the following response: "Your a great customer. I wish I can offer more of a discount but, at this time I am unable to do so. Espeically on the bracelets you purchased, I make those with shipping charge because otherwise I would be taking a lose.". This seems to indicate to me that the seller is making their profit buy adding it to the the handling charge. I though handling charges were for packaging material and insurance and not to make a profit. This is the 3rd seller that has indicated to me that they have to charge a handling fee on each item to ensure they make a profit on it especially if they have a low start price. Some claim that they had to pay labour charges, storage etc. Should these sellers be reported to EBay. If a seller is selling their items for what they consider too low a price, then I believe they should have at a more "correct" starting bid and not try to hide their profit in the handling fees.

Hi aln_kat,
You can contact Customer Support to report a listing you think violates this policy. Go to that listing, and then click the Report item link on the right side of the page. I'm not 100% sure if this is a violation, but it's never a bad thing to double check.
Thanks,
