It's that time of year again for the eBay.ca Holiday Party for 2005!

The party will be held on Thursday, December 15 right here on the Canada Town Square board from 3:00-5:00 PM ET. To add some fun, and some healthy competition we will have prizes for the "best of" the following:

Best Holiday Outfit
Best Holiday Cookies
Best Yule Log
Best Gingerbread House
Best eBay "it" Holiday Story
Best Dressed Holiday Pet
Best Siggie
Best Family Holiday Tradition
Best Snowman

Snipe #25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 300.

There will be different Pinks from all over the world posting to this thread during the party, so come and meet some of the eBay Staff and have a cup of eggnog and say hello. This thread will be reserved for the party only and no disruption of it will be permitted.

OK, I have an ebay IT story, and its even a Christmas story!

A long time back when Bud and I started making plans to retire, we decided the house of our dreams would be a heritage home or heritage-style home. To go along with that, I've wanted to be able to serve tea to friends and neighbours on a nice porch. But of course I didn't have a nice tea set! What I did have was one set of cream and sugar bowls that I simply adore. So off I set on a quest to add to that set and find complementary pieces to go with it. This particular teapot is hard to find, though not impossible, and I searched high and low in shops, flea markets, garage sales, etc, to no avail, all the while keeping an eye on ebay for it too. Nothing nothing nothing. Then along came the teapot....oh oh oh!!!!! So I plonked down my bid and hoped for the best. Imagine my sadness when I was outbid and didn't win the teapot. But, chin up, if one came along, another might too. OK now get this - a while later a box arrives on our doorstep. What does it contain????? THE TEAPOT!!!!! A fellow CTSer knew how much I wanted the teapot and, using an alternate ID, outbid me on it and made a Christmas prezzie of it for me! I'm still sooooooooo thrilled and its the sweetest thing anyone's done for me in quite a long time (other than Bud marrying me, he told me to put that in LOL). I still won't reveal the CTSer's identity so as not to cause possible embarassment but if this IT story wins the prize, its going to be promptly sent along to her!

Thanks for sharing *ChristmasAngel*! It's cool to hear about different holiday traditions from different cultures.

For me, my family is from Asia and we typically celebrate Christmas by having a big family dinner with turkey next to the sushi next to the chow mein 😄
