ebay global shipping is a scam! Beware buyers!!

Ok, I am disillusioned now with eBay and PayPal and the works.

Made a purchase, paid for the purchase, Global shipping returned it to the seller with no reason.

eBay says the purchase was complete so they won't give me the time of day.  Had to file item not received.  Seller wants to sell me the item but I cannot recover the fees from Global Shipping.  Hell, I cannot even contact Global Shipping.  They are like a shadow organization.

Called PayPal and they can't do anything, they point the finger at eBay.

Now all I can do is wait a month and get my money back.  Seller did nothing wrong I did nothing wrong.  Cannot get any answer out of eBay other than blame the seller.

Total crock.  I am so done with this site!  Amazon and Craigslist are so much easier and cheaper.  Too much headache.

"Global shipping returned it to the seller with no reason."

???

What is the nature of the item?  Is the seller experienced using GSP?

That has been happening quite a bit lately but I have no idea why. I think that in some of the cases the item wasn't supposed to be shipped through the program but it seems that in other cases no one really knows the reason.

You will receive all of your money back but ebay has a really poor system set up for making any type of gsp claims.

You said you have to wait a month...is that because the estimated delivery date isn't over until then?

Even if it isn't, I would keep phoning ebay and explain what has happened. Do you have a tracking number that shows the item was returned to the seller? That should prove to them that it is not on its way to you. I wonder if there is someone there who specializes in gsp claims...perhaps ask for someone like that?

As far as them blaming the seller...well they probably don't have a clue although it is possible that the seller shipped something that he wasn't supposed to through the program. However, ebay should not make it possible for sellers to list those type of things anyway.

How can you see if it is being tracked if GSP don't give you a tracking number? Just wonder.

For your information if you buy anything with GSP and need to open a dispute, DO NOT CONTACT your sellers for resolution!!  Once the sellers refund you, you cannot open a dispute with GSP for refund on shipping!

You have to open the disputes through PayPal to get all refunds (from sellers and GS).  It seems with GSP we are not allowed to "work" with sellers for resolutions for full refund.  Pity as we would prefer to work with sellers first but not with sellers with GSP!!  Go to PayPal to open disputes, then you will get full refund, otherwise you are screwed.  That is GSP for you!!

Keep in mind that the GSP was set up as a protection for US sellers who were afraid to sell internationally.

At its most basic, when a US seller ships to Kentucky and tracking shows delivery, the seller has no further responsibility for shipping costs, damage or delays.

And of course, much of the 'shipping cost' goes to PB/GST and Canadian governments as fees, taxes and duty. These costs are never seen by the seller and the seller has no responsibility for them.

Since I have not needed to file a Dispute under the system as it currently stands, I wonder if the Resolution Centre is capable of automatically routing disputes to the correct channel.

As I understand it, GSP problems (shipping and packing) should go to the GSP specialists.

Not As Described claims should go to the seller through eBay.

Not Received claims/ nonGSP should go to the seller through Paypal.

Am I confused as usual?

Not really, ena, have yourself another port and lemon. I am trying to get some of this clarified with my UK ebay contacts and it will be a subject for discussion. Let me add the situation where the seller bypasses the GSP altogether and the buyer gets the item with additional taxes to pay.
