Yes, you are a basic member.
There are slightly different fees for Store owners, but you should have at least 50 unique listings before you even think about opening a Store.
In the meantime, concentrate on getting shipping right. That's the hardest part of selling by mail order. And online selling is just mail order in a fancy new dress.
Your listing fee is given on the Sell Your Item form just before you click to list.
Your Final Value Fee on shipping (did you know about that?) is 10% of the first domestic shipping rate you specify.
Your FVF on selling is 10% of the selling price.
You will also be paying 30 cents plus 2.9% to Paypal for processing* your customer's payment.
So if you sell an item for $10 with $10 shipping, you will pay 30 cents to list**, then you will pay $1.00 as a selling FVF and $1.00 as a shipping FVF.
Then PP will take a flat 30 cents plus 2.9% or 58cents for their fees on the customer's entire payment.
So from your $20 payment, you will get $17.42.
From which you pay for shipping.
Now.
Did you know that as a Buyer Protection PP will HOLD your customer's payment for 21 days against your performance?
Did you know that PP will allow you to print a shipping label from that payment immediately?
Did you know that PP shipping labels may be discounted from 5% to 18% off PO counter prices?
*This is about what a retailer with a merchant account pays to credit card companies for cc and debit card payments.
** You actually get 50 free listings every month but calculate this in anyway. Better too high than too low.
