how to bid when ur not home

I remember at one time in ebay you were allowed to put down an amount when you are bidding on an item and ebay would bid for you until the amount was hit.  Does ebay not do that anymore?  I can't see where it is.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi  .. Nothing is changed. Just place a bid for the max you are prepared to pay..
