is feedback a mutual thing between buyer and seller?

I did the feedbacks every time my items arrived.   Ebay would always send me reminders if I hesitate a bit to fill up the feedback write-ups;  but a couple of my sellers somehow never posted feedbacks to me.  Is this feedback thing a mutual and reciprocal duty on eBay?

Neither party has to leave it.

When eBay sends you messages saying that you "Have to leave feedback for 666 items" they are fibbing.

You never have to leave feedback.
