Purchased an item which was removed by e bay right after I paid for it. I have not recieved it and opened a claim. Pay pal responed with a tracking number and said my action was required. The only two options I can see are 1. cancel the claim 2. Item not as described. This two options do not fit my problem...item stil not recieved. I would like to keep the claim open. I read in the help section that I have to respond when action is required or pay pal will close the claim. How do I respond to this request for action.

This not exactly an answer to your question, but may help answer it.
You say PayPal provided you with a "tracking #". Do you mean a CLAIM #
or is it a package tracking # ? If it is a package tracking # (possibly supplied by the seller) then you need to do some "homework" and track the parcel
to see where it may have gone.If it as claim #, then you may have to
contact the seller yourself and ask for a tracking #. You may require that
the sender(seller) open a postal inquiry to track the parcel. If you have a
tracking # try going to www.canadapost.ca and look up the selection of
parcel tracking that ends in (.org) this will give you more choices like
US postal,Australia,Canada, and several other options. If the parcel is from
the UK, go to www.royalmail.com and look for Track and Trace.
I went thru this in early 2012 with a PayPal claim. Do your own work to
trace your parcel and provide PayPal with that info. PayPal will give the
sender with time (7-10 days) to respond to the claim at each step,so don't
despare. My claim took more then a month to settle. (my package got
returned to the UK by Canada Customs because there was no return
address on it and ended up in the
UK's Return Center where it was opened and they still didn't find a
senders address. It was a "tracked,to be signed for" parcel) Hope this
info may help you get a refund from PayPal But just remember, it will
take time for you to get your refund. And after providing info to
Paypal they need to pass the info to the seller and wait for the seller
to respond. Don't give up hope. I almost quit PayPal and e-Bay over
the apparent, slow response from PayPal, but they were just being
fair to the seller. Good Luck.

Have you searched the tracking # seller entered into claim. Does it indicate delivered. Where. May be fake.
PP should not close the claim unless it shows delivered.
If necessary call PP @ toll free..1-888-221-1161.
