Did e-Bay lose my package? Stuck on EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE OR AWAITING PROCESSING For 9 days

Have a signed soccer card coming in from the US. But since April 1st it has been stuck between Glendale, IL and supposed to make its way to Melrose, IL. DHL says they have not received the item yet.

I have opened a case with Ebay (although latest delivery date is April 22) but for it to be stuck for 9 days I fear it may have gotten stolen.

I also hold out hope that Tariffs have messed with sending out items from abroad so that is the hold up.

You are covered by eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

You are also covered by Paypal's Buyer Protection program, if you used PP, and by the chargeback provisions of the credit card you really paid with.

Since you opened a Claim, I presume the last estimated date for delivery has passed?
Note that in my experience (mail order selling since circa 1980) it can easily take a month for a shipment to arrive from the USA.

When the seller (or I suppose in this case, the expertisation service) gave the tracking number showing that the shipment is in transit, eBay does usually give some extension on delivery time.

However, you can ask eBay to step in and refund you.

This does not affect the seller. The refund comes from eBay's insurance company.

Once tariffs got implemented this increased the chances of delays with customs processing. There is a very good bet this is what has happened to your purchase. For now I would just stay patient. Any tracking updates will be very intermittent. It takes more time to assign or not assign duties than would when low valued items flew through the process in the past.

Thanks for the response! Yeah, would be such a bummer as the card is very rare, not very replacable. But like you said, may need to be more patient.

I'm really hoping it is tariffs related and not lost. Will sit tight.

Appreciate the response! I just double checked and perhaps claim was the wrong word. Ebay are investigating where my package could be but no claim against the seller. Plus, the seller seems to have done their part which is ship the item to eBay's international shipping center.

The refund is the least of my concerns as it is a pretty rare card and would be a huge bummer if it was lost/stolen. Hopefully it is the tariffs that slowed things down and not someone keeping it.
