What Happened

What the hell has happened to Ebay. It's like an online garage sale. You can't get any answers from anyone and when you get ripped off it's Ebay's fault because their security and service suck so bad. Thanks Eboob.........we're al done with you. $100 this doesn't get posted.

@blooknight

Most of the system is automated although there are ways to contact people in customer service that are more helpful than some of the telephone cs.  If you could explain your problem, someone here might be able to help and/or point you in the right direction to get help.

Oh..since your post was posted, who gets the $100 you bet? 😀

I've been here for over ten years and while there have been many, many changes for sure, I still have never had a problem reaching customer service, never had any security problems. Have had some frustrations certainly but it always got worked out in the long run.

If you are trying to reach someone today (Christmas Eve) it might be a little harder, maybe staff is a little less (not sure). Typically you can use the Contact Us at the bottom of the page and if you want to speak to someone you can request a call back. I've found them to be fairly quick (albeit I haven't tried on Christmas Eve!). You can also contact them through the social media links (some prefer this, I prefer to talk in person!)

As PJ has already mentioned looks like you lost the bet, your posting was top of the page here when I peeked just now (waiting to leave to the in-laws!, possibly stalling!?!)

Hope your issue gets worked out and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you, and everyone on this fine board here!

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options.
These are covered by trained employees who have some authority.

The phone clerks are semi-trained, but actually work for a sub-contractor in Utah.

Now the usual problems are Not Received  and Not As Described.

If you did not receive your purchase by the last estimated delivery date, you can file a Claim.

If the seller cannot prove Delivery, you will be refunded.

If the seller can show Delivery, but not to your address, use the links above to appeal.

If the item is Not As Described, which covers everything from the packaging was demolished in transit, to being the wrong colour,  you can file a Claim

The seller will be required to send you Return Shipping.

He can choose to refund instead. He can demand that the item be returned before refunding, even if he has a No Returns policy. But he must refund.

If he refuses, eBay will refund you and go after him for their money.

If you missed the 30 days after delivery deadline for Claims, you can still Dispute the transaction with Paypal for 180 days from payment, although PP insists that the buyer pay for return shipping.

And if you used a credit card directly, you can make a chargeback, depending on the card's policies, for 120-180 days from payment.

Many sellers and buyers lament that eBay is no longer an online garage sale, nor an auction site as it was when Weird Al was buying here.
