Why do sellers insist on stating that an autograph signed card from Zellers in the 90's is rare and worth an amount way more than what it is. There are 1000's of these cards available. If you want to sell your card than be honest and quit playing on a buyer's gullibility. Shame on the sellers. There are more of these freakin cards than what one could ever buy. Let's get real people!

Someone's grandpa told them as little kids that they couldn't play with the cards (or stamps or coins or toys) because they were rare and worth a lot of money.
Every kid believes his grandpa.
Not every adult knows how to find a catalogue price.
Or even what the catalogue is telling them.

I agree that some cards might not be worth a lot of money. However, it all depends on the shape and condition of the card. If it has been graded by a professional company like PSA, it can be worth more. Depending on the grading, sometimes a LOT more.

For some sellers I think it comes down to how much they've done their research. Sellers are much like me and don't know the value of everything. That's where a little research comes in. But it's all about how much research you do. To decide on a price I check different sellers from different selling sites and then come to a decision on what to set my price at. But if they don't have the time to spare they'll just check eBay or only a single online retail site and end up echoing the same price the majority of sellers have set (who may or may not be listing an item at it's full value).

Sounds like there are cards that you want which no one is offering at a price you like.
If all the available cards on your want list are priced what you consider to be high, then perhaps your idea of the value is too low?

You can check sold listings to see if every seller is asking to much or if your idea of the items value is to low. I think the chances of every seller selling the item for to much at the same time is pretty low.
