Part of my eBay story. It's too long.
We first started eBay for fun selling stuff I had around the house. Then we expanded to selling bird toys that my hubby makes for our kids and jewellery that I make.
I have worked for a "family" business my entire life and was supposed to be set for life. Well, as they say, life changes and poop happens. I got pooped on. My mom died and my "brothers" got greedy. They manipulated and influenced my dad to get rid of me. I was going through a major depression and trying to convince myself that life was worth living. I was given the choice of staying home and they'll pay me or come in to work and they won't. Nice family eh? NOT!
I chose to stay home. I went to therapists and tried different meds to help with my depression. They then FIRED me and cut me off completely. I had to get a lawyer. A good one but they cost money. I had to dip into my RRSP for money and started to REALLY do eBay. I started selling my possessions in earnest. We were reduced to mac and cheese and hot dogs. It was so not fun. 😞
It was a really rough time for us. I am thankful that in my previous life I bought tons and tons and tons of stuff. I had fun doing the buying and now I have fun selling it all.
I've learned that I'm very computer literate and have a talent for many things. I've grown in self confidence. I was told for my entire life I was stupid and a complete idiot, a total waste of life and poor excuse for a human being. An all around lump of poop. 😞 Well I discovered that I'm not any of those things!
We've come over the mountain and are in a much better place now. Hubby and I are doing much better and I'm learning that I am a good person not the bad guy they made me out to be. None of this would have been possible without the help of eBay. If it wasn't for eBay I would have lost my house. I very likely wouldn't be breathing at the moment. I am thankful and grateful for the technology that allowed eBay to exist and for the incredible opportunities that eBay allows all of us to have.
