I can't get these new and improved boards to sort by "Time of most recent post"

Despite multiple attempts, it still arranges the items by: Original posting date

This makes it a pain to go looking for postings with recent additions, so I'm not doing it....

Is anyone able to sort by time of most recent post?

Hi @ricarmic

An upate on this - this didn't roll out Monday (as I'm sure you're aware) but is now planned to deploy in  Thursday's maintenance window, so we should expect to see this work the way it used to on Friday morning!

Where does one find this highly desirable option of which you speak? 🤪

It's well hidden beside the imaginary button for keeping a pending balance in MP to make online eBay purchases.  ONLY workaround I can find is subscribe to posts you are interested in or have responded to.

😂

My "workaround," if you want to call it that, is to scroll down the thread list and look for stuff that has been updated pretty recently.  Of course, I don't have the patience to go through more than a couple dozen or so, so if a thread from a while back has suddenly been updated, I'm likely to miss it.

If you look in the upper right corner area there is a "Options" pull down.

If you look at the options the 2nd last of mine says "Sort by topic start date".

(what this means is that if you click that it changes the sort order to "sort by topic start date" from what it is now (which for me is "Time of most recent post", it displays the other option which is a bit bass ackwards as one might say)

Under the "Options" pull down, if you click on "Edit my preferences" at the bottom  and look under the "General" tab it shows what things are currently set to. (which is the opposite of what you saw in the higher level pull down).

Looks like it is a "growing pain" of the conversion, I'm sure eventually they'll fix it up....

I'll tag tyler@ebay to make sure he knows this isn't working at this time.

This is what I get by subscribing from the dropdown. Messy if you would  like to follow a large quantity of discussions. Even finding new stuff can be a lottery. If you try going back and forth from dot ca to dot com eventually you will find minor and major differences between the 2 similar to Where's Waldo.

He knows as I have mentioned it a couple of times. It is the same on the US board but apparently they are working on it.  It seems odd that it wasn't automatically done as discussion boards generally work like that.

Automatically? You mean like putting the time on posts not just the day or putting the names of who replied or bolding a thread Title is a new reply has been made. You know, all the stuff that is common to almost every discussion board that shouldn't go away when a mostly cosmetic change is made.

If those things had carried over it would have ensured that Dr Seuss would have owned the first page and probably still would (maybe with a few where is my money threads).

I was wondering why there's been a downturn in posting on this board. And here I thought you guys were too busy with sales to post. 😄

I don't enjoy the new board, its clunky lol and not easy to find new posts. And I can't even reply half the time I get an error messge. Tried last week on a thread 3 times and just said F it!

It took me a while to get adjusted to reading it compared to the old board.

For some reason, the boards feel empty. With the old boards I could check the forums and sense the community by the number of posts made but now I don't see it anymore. Could be the lack of finding the view by new posts..

"...new and improved boards..."

LOL!!!

Here's a flashback to the "old and **bleep**py" discussion boards of 2007 with little white space and more than 3 topics showing without scrolling!  Vibrant and effective...

@imbuzzy

Are you sure your post is not an upgrade?

New variation is more like below.

Just switch caption to "My eyes are tired".

@ricarmic@pjcdn2005 - an update on this functionality:

Khoros is working on a fix with a tentative rollout of Monday - which I suppose is better than never, but I was hoping for tonight's maintenance window.

Speaking of which, we'll be getting a few different 'quality of life' improvements that .com requested tomorrow. I'm not certain that many of them will be interesting to folks here, but the one that I'm eager for is the addition of a link to 'My eBay' in the drop down menu once you click on your profile photo in the upper right corner.

Thanks for the update on the heads up to My Ebay from the drop down tyler@ebay . This change is/was a major nuisance for sellers moving back and forth between discussions and their eBay Home Page.
