Adding Buy It Now to an existing listing

Hi everyone, It's me again

I finally got some items posted and have received a request (through ebay mail) for me to list the item as Buy It Now. There are no bids on the item and no one else is following it.

I've checked the eBay rules, and I can't find anything that says this is against the rules, but I want to make sure before I do it. I'm new here and don't want to get into trouble on my first week.

You all have been a great help in the past, hope you can help out with this one

Re: Adding Buy It Now to an existing listing

Usually if someone is interested in immediate purchase of an auction, it is because they think it will sell for more in bids. Did they give you a good offer to list as buy it now?

You can add a Buy It Now price to the auction. It costs from 5 cents to 50 cents depending on the start price.

What is the listing number? Did you research how much it can sell for?

Re: Adding Buy It Now to an existing listing

Thanks pocomo, It's a moot point now - while I was looking up whether or not I was allowed to change the auction format and trying to figure out how to do it, someone else bid on the item. It's good to know for the future though that I'm allowed to if I want.

I did research the item, and I have it priced low. I would have doubled the price for BIN, and even then it's low, but I figure because I am a new seller I'm going to have to take a bit of a loss in order to get a bit of a following. I'm definitely not giving things away though.

Thanks again for the reply. This really is quite a good forum. You regulars have been very helpful and I certainly appreciate it. Thanks
