Buyer requested invoice for 2 items then added another item

i have a buyer who put 2 items in her cart, requested an invoice through eBay from me, then bought another item. The invoice request just shows 2 items, can I just go ahead and invoice her for all 3? I can’t see how to add the extra item.

Also, this would be small packet to Denmark, is it still taking extra long to send to European countries? I already had to refund one pkg that went to Norway that didn’t arrive in 8 weeks.

To add another item the buyer has to add the extra item to the cart and pray that the request total button is available. If they can request a total when you go to send an invoice all 3 may be available.

Or (as I have done a few times) if they have not paid for any yet make all the price/shipping adjustments on the invoice for 2 and have buy the 3rd item outright at the normal price.

Shipping to Europe is still slow, not as bad as it was in the Spring and Summer and I expect the situation will improve now that the Christmas rush is over (over except for returns!). I do not expect things to return to the "old normal" anytime soon (maybe 2022).

Re: Buyer requested invoice for 2 items then added another item

Personally, I don't think I would send anything without tracking to another country. I had sent a parcel to the US with tracking that took over 5 weeks to get there. Who knows how long it would take to Denmark.

Also when someone has bought extra items that can't be combined into one invoice, I have just sent 2 invoices with adjusted shipping on them for the person to buy seperately.  But I make sure to add the same tracking number on both sales on eBay.

I don't think that I've every tried to add an extra item but I have a feeling that it isn't possible. You could add the cost of the item to the Shipping price though that might just confuse the buyer.

I haven't shipped to Europe in a while so am not sure how long things are taking.

Re: Buyer requested invoice for 2 items then added another item

You could add a Best Offer on the item and ask the buyer to send an offer for just a penny under your price. Than, when you accept that offer, you can add it to your invoice.

However, if the buyer has already paid for the first 2 items, it will not be possible to add the third item to the same invoice. You can still do the BO option and adjust the shipping when said offer is accepted.

Re: Buyer requested invoice for 2 items then added another item

Maybe eBay has fixed some glitches or eBay.de works better, but my buyer must have been able to add the item to her cart and send an updated Request Invoice to me. Worked so smoothly, wish it always worked that way. I sent the invoice and she paid so I’ll be sending with tracking on Monday. I’m absorbing the extra couple of dollars it will cost to send tracked due to the pandemic.

Re: Buyer requested invoice for 2 items then added another item

I've been noticing that the Request Total button has been available for many buyers over the past month or two.

Usually (last couple of years) almost every day I have to deal with buyers who add to cart but can't request a total but something seems to have changed (at last?) because I am getting request totals from lots of buyers in Canada, US and overseas.

It's not perfect though because a few buyers have told me the option wasn't active in their cart.

Tracking won't do anything to get your package on a plane faster, it won't do anything to speed up the process in the destination country either.

Upgrading to a tracked service will also usually elevate to a higher service level that may have priority when it comes to the amount of time it takes to leave Canada but that is about it.
