I have a buyer who has bid on about 6 of my auction items. After she won the first one I told her I would wait and invoice her with combined shipping after the rest of the items closed. She paid me the next day - I contacted her asking if she wanted this item shipped separately & she replied no all together. She won 2 more today and requested an invoice. I emailed her and said to wait until all the items closed and I would offer her combined shipping and while it might be more than shipping for one item I would only charge the difference. She went ahead and paid for both items but paid double the shipping cost as I had not sent a combined invoice. I really am not sure why she is doing this but I am wondering if eBay will charge me FVF on all the shipping costs she has paid. I guess I never check my invoices closely (just happy if items sell) so not sure when combining shipping how eBay charges. I do know that most sellers say they will offer to combine shipping only if paid on the same invoice. Figure this is for a reason but am sure some of you more seasoned sellers who pay closer attention can tell me if I should be refunding money to her on the shipping already paid. Always appreciate the comments from other sellers.

eBay will not refund excess shipping FVF paid. Some sellers have called eBay to get a refund but it is a courtesy refund that you usually do not get. No way for eBay to know that you refunded the buyer unless you sent a revised combined invoice and the buyer paid that invoice.

So many sellers will refund excess shipping costs minus the extra eBay shipping FVF the seller has to pay. Buyer gets most of the excess shipping back and you do not lose on shipping FVF. eBay gets the excess shipping FVF but buyer pays, not you.
