I received a neutral feedback - and I did not deserve it.
I sold a hockey card. The comment with the neutral feedback was that the card had "black smudges, front and back".
This is a design on the card. It appears on all cards in the set. It appears to be an attempt to make these cards look old or antiqued.
I have contacted the seller. I sent him a scan of another card from the set - front and back. I asked him to compare it to the card he bought. He would see that the marks are in the same places on both cards. I offered to send more scans of other cards in the set. I asked to have the neutral removed. No pun intended, but I view it as a "black mark" on my account.
So far, no reply. I contacted eBay and explained the situation - no response.
In the past year, I have had three neutrals. This one and two caused by a complete crash of my Turbo Lister in late December, which I am still trying to recover from.
How do I get this neutral removed - it is bugging me?

Hi; I'm going to make a suggestion to you that I know TheThreeP*****s are going to dump on me for because that is what they do..........
You can take it or leave it but .............
1) Ebay has been much more willing to remove NFB now than ever before so if you don't mind wasting you time, call them.......
2) See what the buyer says when and if he responds to you......
3) Here is the one that The3P***s (especially) are going to slaughter me for.......... and I suggest it to you ONLY because you seem so stressed.....
I don't know exactly how you'd handle the communications portion of this....... or if you even need a response from the buyer first etc.,
Send the buyer another card from the set for free. That way the buyer will see the smudge, and everyone loves a freebie.
It's only a couple a" $s to you.
(That said............ I love inuk"s attitude ........ He'd probably say don't sweat it and that's right on the $..........but I'm not that evolved yet... :-))

2) See what the buyer says when and if he responds to you......
The neutral was placed on Jan. 29.
The buyer has not responded.
There is no guarantee that, if I send the free card, there will be a response to my request.
He'd probably say don't sweat it
I work hard for every positive feedback I get.
When someone purchases a card from me, and I ship in a padded envelope, I will include extra cards for free. If I can tell from the person's location and purchase that they have a favorite team or player; I will usually got to the effort of making sure the extra cards match what they collect.
I make sure that I ship within 24 hours of the sale.
Mail is picked up at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. If I have items to ship, I will make an effort to make get the item into the next scheduled pick up.
I sell to people in Europe - probably about 30% of sales, lately. Because of language differences, these sales require extra effort. I sold a card to Slovakia, yesterday. I have had 5 emails from the person in less than 24 ours. He is now happy and his card has been shipped.
Feedback is important. DSR's are important. I try to make sure they are all good. "Don't sweat it." I do. That's just me. Undeserved feedback is something I take personally. One of the things I learned from my dad is: do your very best and you will be rewarded.

poor baby...suck it up buttercup, and move on....
Don't worry about it...
Isn't that what u tell people..........

I agree 100% with your approach to your eBay business, and I think those of us who've managed to maintain 100% positive FB (or very close to it) have worked very hard for it and understand that it takes extra effort. If neutral FB is important to you, then take whatever action you can to have it revised or removed. If your best efforts to do so ultimately fail, then at least you know you didn't just sit back and say "Oh well..."
I recently got a neutral FB for -- of all things - Customs charges, from a UK buyer. It stuck out like a sore thumb amongst my 100% positives, and, really, when a buyer sees a neutral during the current month, it might as well be a negative, especially if you're not selling a thousand items a week. No amount of additional commentary by the seller really remedies that perception.
The big problem is that buyers either don't know (or don't care) how critical FB and DSRs are to sellers. For many buyers it's just an open forum for venting their anger, whether it's fair or not. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to persevere with eBay - even if you have to send eBay a scan of a similar card to show there was no error on your part. Were the pictures in your listing clear enough to show the dark smudges? If not, you might consider replacing the pictures and pointing out in the description that this effect is deliberate. (I know that's closing the barn door after the horse has fled, but you don't want to have to deal with this again).
Personally, I would contact the buyer once more, tell him what you've set out here about your philosophy of selling, and ask him to reconsider (hopefully he speaks English???). You have nothing to lose at this point by trying again. Believe me, it does feel good if you can get that neutral blot removed from your FB page!
My view is that the "suck it up and forget it", "who cares" attitude will only result in a worsening reputation in the long run. Some sellers can live with that, but I can't if I think there's anything I can do about it.
Sorry everyone, I'm with "puckstopshere" on this one.

Yes many sellers work very hard to maintain a perfect or near perfect feedback rating.
Feedback and DSRs are important to most (not all) sellers.
You have already done everything most sellers would do. It is pretty obvious the buyer did not fully comprehend what he was purchasing resulting in the neutral feedback.
The options are:
1) pursue it and hope the buyer will agree to a feedback revision, understanding there is always a risk of the buyer agreeing and revising the neutral (does not affect rating percentage) to a negative.
2) move on and live with another neutral on your record for a year
It is your decision as to the time and frustration you want to spend on the problem and the risks you are willing to assume.
Only the huy in the mirror has the answer.
Good Luck.
PS - Since you already had a feedback revision, you know the procedure. I am posting this link for readers who may not know how the feedback revision system works:

Tried the link to make sure I was doing it right.
Got a bright red message;
This page may have moved or is no longer available. Please try one of the following:

i*m-still-here - You wrote "TheThreeP*****s are going to dump on me for because that is what they do."..."the one that The3P***s (especially) are going to slaughter me for"..."but I'm not that evolved yet"
Many may have different perceptions as to what these discussion boards are all about.
The way I see it, the goal is to help and assist other users (sellers and buyers) by offering answers and suggestions based on our experience and expertize.
Despite doing it for fourteen years, I understand that my suggestions or answers may not always earn 100% agreement from all readers and posters. I accept that. Different folks with different experiences and expertize may reach different conclusions and offer a different solution to a problem. That is one of the main advantage of the discussion boards.
But I try to remain true to the goal of helping and assisting other users.

And yet you have just negated everything you just posted about yourself
when you purposely slaughtered my post by cutting and pasting to suit your needs.
Actions speak louder than words.
My post clearly stated that I admire Inuk's attitude as evolved.
Trust Me: It has nothing to do with you

Puck, I know when I get a neutral I find it frustrating as well but I honestly don't think that buyers look at neutrals the same or even close to a negative. It's obvious to anyone that you are an excellent seller. How many sellers do you see with 5000+ feedback in 12 months and zero negatives? That really is incredible to have that many sales without a single negative.
Unless the buyer threatened to leave negative feedback if you didn't do a partial refund or something like that, I doubt that ebay will remove the neutral but you can try. It might make you feel better if you leave a response to the neutral stating that the "smudges" are part of the design.

TheThree P*****s lol
You really do like those *** That reminds me of an old id
I'm not quite sure why you said what you did. Is it a way of trying to keep others from disagreeing with your posts? Manipulation?
Or just being passive aggressive?
You seem to think that you are a victim yet in many cases...like your first post on this thread...you are the aggressor. Very odd.

I for one have never looked at a sellers neutral feedback because most neutrals tend to be minor misahaps or things that are not the sellers fault at all ...
I havenm't been around for to long but long enough to know most people on these boards like pierre and puck and femme are well good people and provide top notch service so I say chalk it up and move on we and most your customers know your good S^$%puck ... Can't remove Neutral can't harrass customer to the point they are annoyed and revise to a neg so move on friend ..
FYI I wish I had better info to give but I don't other then to say we know you rock partner head up ...
FYI when you refer to what someone writes it is normal to copy and paste previous comments so new readers know why your saying what your saying and who your replying to which I'mstillhere you know that man 😉

None of the above.

Sorry to hear thet Puck.
Unfortunately it happens & it seems there is nothing we can do about it
I received an unfair neg this week, first one in over six years.
If thery do not respond to the feedback revision, report the buyer & then block.
You know you are a great seller, i know i am a great seller.
Thats all that counts. We can't please everyone.:-(
