Is there such a thing as warranty on a item?

I purchased a eternity ring in May2012, it was appraised for significantly less than seller provided and the details (ex. total CT weight) differed. I got in contact with the seller and they offered me 300$ and I took this as it wasjust before my wedding and I didnt want to be out a ring. This past month one of the diamonds fell out and the clasps need to be adjusted the jewerler I took it to here told me. The seller is telling me I have to pay upwards of 300.00 to have them fixed plus shipping and handling. I am wondering if sellers are responible for the poor quality of there products when it comes to jewerly stores and selling diamonds?

also took quite awhile responding to my request. Poor customer service.

This purchased was made over a year ago.

At the time, you left positive feedback for the seller:

"The ring I received was gorgeous, seller was professional throughout!"

Whie a local jewellery store may give you more than a one year guarantee, it is quite frankly expecting too much from online merchants.

The best stuff is not sold on eBay. I have found the I can buy similar products from B&M Cdn retailers for similar dollar amounts.

It is My Honey's birthday in a few weeks. Where will I shop? On-line at a Cdn jewellry store, not eBay. She will sit me down with a very large martini, my laptop, and my credit card. Happy shopping!

A year later? That falls under the heading of "wear and tear".

Poor quality? There is a rule over on Motors: pre-inspect. I realize that is not at all practical for most widgets, but, if you cannot pre-inspect, bid accordingly. I used to buy jewellry here. I would limit myself to 10-20¢ on the appraised dollar. I do not buy on eBay anymore. I can get guaranteed quality, same prices, free shipping from Peoples (Zales).
