It won't generate shipping cost to US

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/331729953200

I am selling an item from Canada.

When I enter random Postal Code (Canada) or country, it works fine.

But when I enter a US Zipcode after selecting United States as country, it says "Shipping cost cannot be calculated. Please enter a valid Postal Code."

The shipping method is selected to "Small Packets - International - Air"

I don't know how to select something specific for US buyers.

Do I give up International buyers and just go for Canada and USA?

Thanks for help.

I suspect your problem is the weight. It looks like your item is over 1 kg but under 2 kg from the prices I see when I look at the listing when I enter different countries.

Small Packet Air USA is only up to 1 kg. Over that and you must use Expedited Parcel USA.

Small Packet Air International weight maximum is 2 kg.

PS Since you have bids, you cannot change the listing to fix the USA shipping. Go to the Canada Post site and use it to get an idea of the shipping cost before someone asks. I would expect it to be in the 20 to 25 range for 2 kg. It will vary depending on where the buyer location is in the USA.

The shipping method is selected to "Small Packets - International - Air"

To use calculated shipping for small packet for the U.S. you would have to specify Small packet USA as small packet air international is only for outside of Canada and the U.S.  You can't change that now but if your high bidder is in the U.S. you should figure out what it is going to cost by going to the Canada Post site and let your bidder know ahead of time as that might factor in whether or not they want the item. You don't need to know which state they are in to figure out a price as small packet USA is based on weight, not on distance so just pick any state.

There are two sell your item forms. The quick form is probably the one you are using and it doesn't only allow you to specify shipping to both the U.S. and other international countries. If you list again and want to ship worldwide, use the advanced listing form. You can change forms on the top right hand side on the listing form page.

Wish I knew.

Thanks.

Don't have problem giving them the quote, just afraid that not showing the shipping cost would deter US buyers to bid.

If you do not have a shipping cost for the USA, then the listing will not show to buyers on ebay.com USA. That is my understanding. So you may not be getting any bids from the USA. You have 7 bids from 2 bidders right now. Any from the USA?

You might want to end the listings and start fresh with shipping set up properly.

Wait for pjcdn2005 (very informed seller) or someone else to confirm what I just posted. Also have some info on how to end the sale without issues. I think you need to cancel each bid and then end the listing with reason "error in the listing".

If you do relist, I would only ship to Canada and the USA and not worldwide like you are doing or at least to less countries. Shipping Small Packets Air International without any tracking or Insurance is risky. Some sellers will say to use "cookie jar insurance" but since you have few listings (one), you can't self insure. I would recommend using InsurePost for third party insurance for this sale at the very least. But they do not insure to all countries. U-Pic is another third party insurer with similar countries insured with some small difference. Both cost about $1.50-2 US per $100 insurance.

You don't want to use calculated shipping. It will cause you many problems. Just use a flat rate for usa and don't overcharge.

Also you are selling to to many risky countries. You will get burned. The crooks know you are new and you will become prey.

Some listings will show on a site even though a listing doesn't have a shipping price to that country but that is becoming more rare. For the most part, if there is no shipping cost, buyers in that location will have no idea the listing exists.

Calculated shipping works fine as long as  the correct information and the correct postal service has been put in. The main problem with the system is that it doesn't tell you that something is wrong when you are setting up the shipping.

I have been using flat rate, and now "free" since the day I started, twelve years ago. I lose a buck I make a buck. It all evens out.

Besides, Small Packet is the same price to anywhere with an American Zip Code.
