Late shipment defects

So I'm sure by now we all know this new defect system sucks and doesn't make any sense. I went from having 0% defects before it to 4.65% within 2 months (10 shipments out of 300).
I got into 2 big fights with ebay but they would only remove 2 defects. But It still dropped me down to 4.0%
Well since then I'm sure I've had 20-30 items delivered and nothing changed until last night when it changed to 3.97% 12 of 302. If 2 defects before was .65% why now is 2 transactions only making a .03% difference? Does this make sense to anyone because I can't figure it out.
I also don't understand why only a few sales even get counted on it? And if we were to send something with no tracking is that an automatic defect?

everything is a defect including ebay which is the biggest defect.I went from 100 per cent to 99.1,have nothing but great fb,so ebay makes up there own defects i spose has nothing to do with your performance,its like a bad dream,

Hmm..you might want to check out your handling time. For example, if you have a handling time of 1 business day and ship after 2 business days, It would count as a defect when the buyer leaves feedback.

I had a 2 day handling time, most things are sent in 1 day. I had 1 item sent on the 3rd day. But that's where ebay just makes up thier own rules. They're counting weekends & holidays as business days & not taking into consideration when buyers pay. They were reaming me out for taking 9 days to send an item but an unpaid item case was opened on it! The buyer didn't even pay for 8 days!
They also told me Canada Post isn't a real shipping service

Um...you might want to contact eBay about your problems because it could be a bug.

I'm going to guess that "they" was a customer support person at eBay?

When you get a person spouting nonsense like that, ask to speak to their supervisor.

And get this- today my rating changed again. No new defects but now it's only out of 308 transactions so I jumped back up to 4.22%

eBay could have been undergoing something. I have had them mess things up on my account and then change it back.

If you don't use tracking they only count the defects when the buyer answers the question "did your purchase arrive by xxx?  If they didn't answer, that transaction doesn't count at all in your total so no, it isn't automatically a defect.

It looks like you do use tracking most of the time though so are you getting the defects because they aren't scanned within your handling time? Are you making sure that your tracking number is showing next to you sold items?

i always ship the same day seven days a week yes even saturday and sunday i take the items to a private mail handler at the local drugstore

Even if you ship your item on Sunday, it will not get picked up until Monday...
