No views or sales on popular items

Have been re listing a popular item for a long time.  Have had few views, no watchers, so did a little sleuthing.  Sellers with the same type item, have in the past had great success.  Now upon checking sold items, there have been no sales in this category (Marlboro man sheepskin jacket} since March 6.  Something is very wrong, when there are no sales for this length of time.  Or am I not looking in the right place? In a previous post, I lamented about 0 views on most of my listings.  I surely can't be the only one here.  

Sorry to seem like a broken record, but there is no point in continuing to list if nobody is looking.

Maybe there is a reason for all the promotions of late.  Is it possible someone is actually noticing sales are declining.  Hope others are doing better,  cheers.

When I search .com I see 12 sold  after March 6th.

I'm actually surprised that many have sold in March since I think that most people are looking to buy spring and summer clothes now.  Part of the problem with selling that item may be that the  cost of shipping to the US....$67 xpresspost to California and over $70 to New York.  I realize the jacket is heavy but how much less would expedited be?

Outside of thinking that with Spring coming, people are not buying jackets? What was your experience with this type of item last March?

In Winnipeg, I have daffodils too! They bloom in, uh, 90 days from now? I'll have daffodils by Victoria Day, so there. Pfffft.

In my defense,  the coat was $99 Can. =$75 US.  Shipping to Cal. (90210)  was $75 Can.= $58 US Total  $133 US.  This compares to about 33% of a similar coat from other sellers.  Expedited provides only tracking, no proof of delivery.

Aside.  I have relisted the coat for $100, with free shipping.  If shipping cost is an issue, this coat should sell immediately.

Expedited USA is tracked, and for items under $750 that is adequate for eBay seller protection.

I hope that works for you although that is a lot of the shipping cost to absorb.

I wasn’t saying that your shipping cost was out of line but buyers would probably compare it with what other sellers are charging for shipping and of course US sellers would be charging less. It’s all about perception which is why I often put part of the shipping cost into the item cost.

Expedited US does have delivery confirmation.
