So this morning I get a coupon for a seller I was recently reviewing their items. The seller is located in Canada but sells on dot com. I received the email approx 1 hour earlier but in gmail only. I click on 1 of the links and it tells me the offer is expired. (Unable to replicate.) In checking on the coupon specifics the following message.

Coupon use is limited to users with a U.S. registration address who are logged into their eBay account.

  • The Coupon offer can end at any time and may end earlier than the promotion end date due to any number of reasons, including Coupon budget limitations. When the offer is no longer available, it will no longer appear on eBay.com.

Valid until: Sep 13, 2023 *Valid for *sellername*, only on eBay.???   Max. discount $3.

No time specified.

This begs the question when will coupons be available for Canadian sellers and when will Canadian buyers have the same access to coupons to apply to their purchases. Majority of Canadian buyers and sellers are registered on dot ca only. Should be no real reason to register on dot com.

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies! I am not sure on the time-line for coupons for Canadian sellers and buyers. I can ask to see if there is insight that I can share on this!

According to the page for generating coupons on ca it appears to still be a work in progress with the ONLY option to create a sale. Is there an explanation as to why it is taking so long to get this feature to Canadians? I don't have an exact date but believe US sellers have had this option since 2019, give or take.

With a bit of digging and trial and error was able to locate this. There was no announcement or easy to find link but it appears to be live on ca. (Searching volume pricing in ca brings up no results.) You are able to connect items, store and personal categories.

Re: Option for Canadian sellers to offer coupons to buyers - Actual ETA

   I rec'd the option to send coupons. It didn't work . I also noticed this today. A "Sales" category in my store. I must have missed the memo...

  I'm not particularliy crazy about the image and caption that appears in my paid for  "real estate" seen by prospective customers.  Maybe it's just me but I find it belittling. We put a lot of work into our store experience. If you missed the memo this banner is  in YOUR store. I can't imagine what eBay would display if my store didn't have a bathroom.

   Now that I know it's there I will figure out how to make this extremely NEGATIVE customer experience go away.

  How about you @lotzofuniquegoodies  or @femmefan1946 ?  Is it just me that might choose a different default for our customer? Capture.JPG

Same.

They got me excited because a volume or bundle pricing option is something that I think could drastically increase my sales.

Interesting. Give option to an unannounced features/tools without testing to confirm they work. Whodda thunk it??? Serves me right for trying to be optimistic. My new go to when I find something different either in a help search or a tool on dot com is see if it works on ca. 9 time out of 10 they never do!!!

   Do you think the discontinuation of Seller to eBay weekly chats is reflected in these failed features?

    With respect to the upside down gender neutral person looking for sale items in a sewer

  they could do better than put a derogatory dead link at the front door of your store. Rather than waste a potential buyer's click they could at least have a pop up;

"As this seller has no current promos please select  one of the following

Store Category _________    All Sellers Items ___   Specific Item Search ______________

  At least it would help incentivize  the customer you paid to get there in the first place to continue shopping  inside your store.

@intimewithmusic

The impression I am getting is the people working on anything feature or repair wise are not in routine constant communication (Insert Cliff Richard song lyric here...It's soo funny....). There may be multiple parties working with a similar end goal but going at things different ways. Programming on top of programming without testing does not usually work well as an end game. The only reason I make that statement is it just too easy to find examples. I constantly find features on dot com that are non existent on ca or were issued with no fanfare but without any testing. Same goes for search results in help. And dead links. Similar to finding a listing to purchase really depends on how you searched and maybe even the moons position at the time. My default is "Results will vary. Depend on it". And repeat!!!!

As for sales I do have them running at different times with a limited amount of success. It's not like ebay updates you when one is about to expire. Same goes for promotions.  I guess entirely on the seller. As with most features you try stuff....until the results make it not worth the effort.

The link for List auction-style FREE, up to 250 in select categories has been broken for over a year. It still leads you to the tax page for some mysterious reason. Pointing it out something as basic as that goes nowhere.

The charge for Gallery Plus should be 1.00. (Effective Dec 2023 Winter update) but still shows 1.05 every time I go to create a listing in 2025. Are/have sellers that use being billed improperly for the past year plus?

The list of flaws/defects, like the beat, goes on. Makes one wonder why when a seller makes a mistake they get out the firing squad. Shouldn't ebay be held to the same standards and shouldn't Canadian sellers have access to the same tools instead of

@lotzofuniquegoodies

   LOL.... Now and then I try sales but they never make a difference for me. Instead I review items and lower the BIN prices.  sometimes for certain items I raise the price. Then it sells. Sold one today for $12.98 that started at $9.99.

There's been announcements for promos on multiples.  I was going to try them out but from these posts I assume they don't work. Good thing eBay is in San Jose instead of New York. They should be OK if Ford shuts the power off.  If that happened maybe they could run on the lithium batteries the ISP can't ship...LOL

For a moment I thought that graphic was appearing publicly!

Fortunately, eBay is only be rude to the seller. We see it on our own accounts not the account of others.

It's also misleading, since in my case I use Best Offer, targeted Best Offer and Standard Promoted Listings to encourage sales in all my active selling accounts.

In passing, apparently Managed Payments now accepts Diners Club. I didn't know they were still in business.

@femmefan1946

Here is the official list for payment methods for ca:

The payment method page mentions debit but seems to be no way to add. Only shows Visa/MC & and Diners Club. Note the Canadian list below does not include gift cards. Possibly why we get random reports of issues using them. Maybe someday we will also have access to spendable funds like they have had in the USA...for ages.

The following payment methods, which are offered at eBay checkout, are allowed as per help:

  • PayPal
  • Credit card
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Payment upon pickup
    • Payment upon pickup must offer one of the approved electronic payment methods. Listings may include the statement: "Contact me for payment methods to pay on pickup."

List for dot com:

The following payment methods are offered at checkout on eBay.com:

  • PayPal
  • PayPal Credit
  • Credit card or debit card
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Venmo
  • Alipay
  • Spendable funds
  • Payment upon pickup
  • Wire transfer facilitated by eBay (select categories only)
  • eBay gift card or eBay voucher or eBay Bucks

One would think option to give more choices would be the end game to make it more convenient.

Hi! Pretty sure it is public. I went incognito and didn't sign in.  Then I searched one of your listings and took the link to your store that way.  A click on your new "SALE" link... VOILA! The upside down person peering through a manhole to the sewer magically appears! Please correct me if I'm doing it right. LOL
