US / Canada - not a solution for all but for some

I know this is only a solution for some Canadian sellers, but I plan on using the UK site for sales to make up for the HUGE negative impact TACO has made on Cdn. sellers.  I have a large collection of GB presentation packs & assorted stamps.  I believe I will try my luck with posting those on the UK site & see how well I can do.  I can only hope it is a blessing in disguise.  My eBay sales were dismal for a long time, so this devastating (for many) dilemma with shipping to the US doesn't make much of a difference for me.  I was going to try more items for cross border sales, but the decision to cease that option became very easy.  Marketplace has been my best option for a couple of years. Good luck to all!  🙂

Sorry to be a bit late to the party, but I’ve been mulling over your post for a while, @sakic92710.

What do you think you’ll gain from listing on the UK site over listing on the Canadian site? The UK seems—to me at least—to be turning into a minefield for non-UK sellers, particularly if they’re business sellers.

The stamp sellers who post here and list on eBay.ca don’t seem to have trouble attracting buyers from outside of Canada, but I might be reading that wrong.

Re: US / Canada - not a solution for all but for some

Hello.  When I search the sold listings for GB presentation packs, a very high precentage sell in the UK.  I'm talking about 98-99%.  My chances of selling those in Canada?  Extremely low.  Also - I have the 250 free lsitings to work with.  I can use .ca for items of more interest to Canadians such as fire & rescue vehicle photos from the surrounding Toronto area.  There is a method to my madness.  😛  Enjoy your long weekend.

PS - A search shows 3,000+ have sold & 13 of them were in Canada.

My question, though, is what difference you think listing on the UK site is going to have versus listing on the Canadian site and offering shipping to the UK?

I don’t know about you, but when I do basic keyword searches and filter by “best match,” my search results show sellers from outside as well as inside Canada. If what you’re selling can be found pretty easily in a search, it should show up in searches on the UK site even if you list on .ca.

Are you selling the packs below face value?
Generally such "collectibles" have no secondary market, but the Royal Mail a couple of years ago demonetized the Machin Head stamps and pulled them from the market.

Hmm - apparently this refers to the older barcoded Machins.

The commemorative stamps are still valid.
