New to used parts selling

Hi,

We are new to the world of selling used powersports parts.  We offer quality used parts for a wide range of vehicles, we are hoping to get into the new parts world as well shortly.  Besides introducing ourselves we are also hoping to make some contacts and hear some advice from experienced sellers. Please drop us a line... we are all ears! And don't forget to check out our page for any powersports parts you may need.

I don't sell anything remotely like yours, but you should know that the hardest part of selling online is Shipping.

Depending on your location you may also find a freight forwarding business which will carry your US sales across the border in order to use USPS shipping and their lower rates.

One well-respected company is chitchatexpress in Mississauga, Calgary, and Vancouver.  There are others.

You can double the number of "free" listings you can make by listing on both dotCA and dotCOM.

No returns does NOT mean No Refunds.

The safest addresses to mail to are Post Office Boxes.

Your titles are too short.  Fill up every character, those are valuable search terms you are missing out on.  Put in the years the parts fit.  07, 08, 2007, 2008 for example.  Think of other ways people describe parts.  Some people say "crank shaft", others say "crankshaft".  Put them both in your title.  Cam shaft, camshaft.

Here are some words in your auction titles that nobody searches for:

assembly, pair, and, with.  Leave them out. Use the space for search terms.

Think about a minimum price you will sell for.  This:

is wasting your time. After you pay the fees to ebay and PP, you'll have less than a buck for your effort.  Better to just throw it away, or combine it with other parts you think a buyer might need with it.

You need to learn how to ship things.

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Kawasaki-CSR-1000-Right-side-brake-lever/313037460859?hash=item48e27c957b:g:...

This can go in a padded envelope and go anywhere in Canada for less than $5.  Buyers get put off by sellers that don't know how to ship efficiently.

On the same lever, what would the dealer charge for it if it was new?  The auto wreckers charge 50% of new. Levers break every time you lay down the bike, so it should be a hot seller.  Hot sellers can be priced higher.

How much did you pay to ship this:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Yamaha-Badger-Carb-to-airbox-boot/312978854195?hash=item48defe5133:g:SToAAOS...

$15.69 like most of your other auctions?

Go to your ebay account and look up the fees you paid on this sale.  It's easier to find your Paypal fee. I estimate you paid $2.47 total fees.  If I'm right, you spent $18.12 to get $15 in revenue. Stop!!!
