Never thought I'd have this problem, but customer spent 1.5hr clicking on my items last night and today I found out eBay allows only 40 lines per one invoice, so I had to send him the invoice in three fragments.
I am hoping this is a real order and not some drunk joke, because image of canceling 85 items does not seem too appealing at the moment 🙂

eBay instituted the 40 listingsper invoice limit about three years ago. It is a pain in the "you know what".
Prior to that, the limit was 90.
I still don't see why a limit is needed. Last week, I had three customers, the same day, purchasing more than 40 items at one time. If paying through PayPal, it means additional fees and more unnecessary bookkeeping.

Can't you just send a single bulk invoice?
87 assorted stamps @ $xxx.xx

eBay does not provide such possibility.
Buyers want to know what they buy (description, individual price, quantity, listing number).
Since many buyers still prefer to pay by mail, using a PayPal invoice would be inappropriate.

Multiple fragments of 40 lines each is actually fine. PayPal's $0.30/invoice surcharge is negligible, the order size was $650 USD. What's killing me at the moment is PayPal USD/CAD conversion rate. I just made a transfer and it was so sad.

Not PayPal's fault it's the double whammy of the financial crisis "easing" causing downward pressure on the US Dollar and rising oil prices giving the Canadian Dollar a boost.
On the positive side, the CA$ fell back by a cent and a half today (Monday).
