I have no problems with Quebecers (I'm one myself).
I'm just confused as to why they represent such a huge part of sales... or more importantly why don't a get more sales from the other provinces?
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
Is eBay that big in Quebec or is there something preventing Canadians from other provinces to view and/or buy my items?
Thanks! 🙂

It's probably just coincidence.
I did think that it might have something to do with the cost of shipping within Canada , since ON and QC are 'regional' while most other provinces are 'national' and more expensive for shipping. But you use Free Shipping so that's not it.

Thanks for the suggestion but after so many orders, there's got to be something else in play here.
e.g., you can't just flip a coin and flip tails 100 times in a row and blame it on coincidence.

Another factor at play would be your overall rank in a Best Match search result, when that search is done by fellow Quebecers. eBay can see that buyers registered to or located in your region tend to buy your items, so therefore your items must be of interest to those people. Your items would therefore rank higher in search results than ones from elsewhere. This is as I understand it.

"why they represent such a huge part of sales"
I like numbers... Of the twenty- five sales so far this month, how many went to Quebec, other parts of Canada, the USA, overseas?

Actually you can.
And still be right.
The odds are against it, but it can happen.
Every coin flip is 50/50. Every single one.

I dont know what items you sold to QC, but there is a reason sales can be disproportionate to there. The major wesbites in Canada all have products that they won't ship to QC over the language law.
eg lots of stuff on bestbuy have a link to this
"Quebec Shipping Restrictions
Currently, our suppliers and/or manufacturers are only providing this product in English which is not in compliance with the Quebec language legislation. Therefore, it is not available for shipping within the province of Quebec. Customers within Quebec may still purchase this product as long as it is shipped to a province outside of Quebec"
So if you are in QC and want to buy those items online, ebay may be your only place. I see you have a few items that are french version, so obvious enough why they would go to QC
It used to be things like movies and games woudl go to QC at a high rate from Canadian sellers, because Americans wouldn't have the bilingual version. But Americans aren't much of a fctor to anywhere in Canada now with what happened to postage rates

Could it have something to do with my shipping in Canada only and in Canadian currency?
I remember reading in my previous thread that lots of Canadians shop on eBay.com and I assume my listings don't appear there because of my shipping restrictions?
Maybe Quebecers have a higher tendency to shop on eBay.ca and English speaking Canadians shop more on eBay.com?
Does that make any sense?
Thanks a lot! 🙂

Oh, very true and likely also a contributing factor to my own sales to Quebec. I can immediately name to mind one major-retailer-type seller on ebay whose listings state 'this item cannot ship to Quebec' in the subtitle of a good half of its listings.

That makes a lot of sense. You may have answered your own question!
My understanding is that if you list on .ca and don't indicate a shipping service to the US, your items won't be seen on .com. That, together with the shipping restrictions from other sellers and retailers, may account for it.
If you want to test it, try entering a shipping rate for the U.S. on a few of your listings and see what happens.

I'm really exited to try it! I have a good feeling it may have a significant impact on my sales outside Quebec.
However, being suspended for 7 days, I won't be able to try it until this week-end... 😞

Maybe Québecois are a little harder on their cars? LOL
Not to point fingers at everyone there, but around Montréal and environs, pedal-to-the-metal seems to be the accepted driving style. Makes for a lot of replacement parts.
