A Paypal dispute resolved in our favour

In February, a customer from Brazil asked for a tracking #. After we replied that we did not have one he filed an "unauthorized use" through his credit card co., which charged back Paypal who then proceeded to charge us back.

We filed a "lost in the mail" with Canada Post and were reimbursed in full.

We had completely forgotten that Paypal "was disputing this on our behalf" and, this morning, received the email below. We love to rag on PP but also believe in giving credit when due.

And now the tough question:

Since you got paid twice for the same item, will you reimburse or consider the payment overtime wages?

Funny you should say that:

Canada Post paid me for a shipment that never made it to my customer, well over $100. Well a couple of months later my customer informed me that he had received it.

So I phone customer service to inform them that the customer indeed received the items and where would they like me to send the cheque.

The gentlemen on the other end of the phone started to laugh and said that this was a first, NO ONE ever sends money back. 🙂

He then informed me that it was their responsible to get my item to the customer is a reasonable time, which he admitted was not done.

Told me that was the cost of doing business, to keep the money and have a nice day.

As for paypal, they too got in touch with me able an unlawful charge back, said I had a good case and they were going after the credit card company....sadly I informed them that I received my goods back in the mail unopened. CASE CLOSED.

But it was paypal who came to me so that was great.
