Last Few days by chance, I've noticed one of my items were not showing up on ebay.com - by WORD search. However it does show in My ebay store and also when you click on "see sellers' other items" - it's there. It is NOT indexed. If there is a discrepancy from "my active listings" to my "sellers all other items" - then easy to notice. There is NO discrepancy and other members are able to view the item by item # & by "see other items within my store by title.
It shows up okay on ebay.ca. About 25% of my items are not showing up by title and some go back as long as 2 months - I never took notice. Therefore, I went and checked a few other CANADIAN sellers items - it's happening to them too.
I will post a few examples of item numbers from my listing and other sellers listings. Go to the item number and COPY the title and put it in the General ebay search bar on EBAY.Com. You will see "NO results found". We are paying for the listings to be listed and if it is not being shown - why are we paying for it?
Item number examples:
271047621524, 380482300645, 290800144962, 271046937528, 200839768517.....list goes on and on.
They all show up by word on ebay.ca but NOT ebay.com where most of my buyers are from. I also noticed that bulk of my buyer were international this month instead of from usual US unless they are my repeat buyers then they are able to search WITHIN my store or by seller's other items.
I did bring this to attention to TCC and was on the phone for 4 hours yesterday - explaining this. The team leader said they will report it to the "Tech" dept. But if other Canadian sellers will call in to complain - then it will be prioritized.
I hope what I am saying makes sense. If it does not show up by word search - then simply they cannot buy. Why are we paying fees for them. As I have over 4000 listings - it's time consuming to check each one - but I can tell you that each page of 200 has over 30 that do not show up so far.
Please help!

Would you mind listing a couple of your item numbers that you can see on .com when using the words to search for it? That might help figure out what is different from the ones that you can find and the ones that you can't.

These you CAN see.
This is what is supposed to happen to all the listings - unfortunately there is a technical glitch on ebay since they changed the pages.

It has no bearing on what category or what type of item...it is just random. I have over 100 items numbers that are not showing by key word search. Some of them date back a month ago. Many sellers are not aware of their own listings that do not show up. It's a hit & miss. There is a problem as most of the buyers come through ebay.com.

I have been having similar issues and found out when someone else posted on these boards noting they were noticing this as well. Sure enough, I searched a few of my items and very few were showing up on .com (all showed up on .ca). This was particularly a problem with the last round of promotional fixed listings that we put up. WIth the recent auction promotion, I've only found about 5-7 out of 185 that weren't showing up.
I manually searched almost all my items last time and today during the recent auction listings. It takes a lot of time (I can't imagine you could do that!) and is a huge time suck. But man, did our sales go up with the last round of fixed price listings! Amazing what search exposure actually does :-).
Best of luck solving this, and I hope Ebay will note from this post that this is a very significant problem.
All the best,
Tabitha

Actually I can't find that first one when I use search.
As you said, that listing of mine couldn't be seen on .com but I did a small revision on it and now you can see it...I think it just needed to be reset.
You could try doing that. It might work if you go to bulk edit your listings but not actually change anything. The action itself might help reset them.

Update - It works for only 5 minutes - then it goes away. There is definitely a problem. More sellers that call in to ebay about this problem, more attention it will get.

yes, changed the price by $1.
Ebay is suggesting that I don't change it - so the tech team can have a look. Because if I fix it - they won't know they have a problem. But another thing is - the items that were showing - now does not show. all Canadian sellers should have a look at each listing and yes it is time consuming. As soon as you find one or 2 items - they should call in. This is the only way it will be fixed properly. I can revise each item that does not show - but after I fix the ones that do not show - the other listing that were OKAY does not show.
Hope this is understandable.
Here are some item numbers that I am not going to fix - so that the tech team can have a look.
271048483994, 271048483960, 271048482431, 200839768517, 380482300645
Only way to solve this is to keep on calling ebay and more the better

How are you searching? Are you searching when logged in with your seller id? This may give false results sometimes. Even if you do not log in, eBay remember items recently search by IP address.
When I want to search for my items, I start up another browser and search when not logged in. I have Google Chrome installed as a backup browser and set up to have the home page of different sites in tabs automatically when I start it up. eBay Canada, USA, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands. So I can search for my items on different sites and see how they do in search quickly. I never login, always cold searches.
Now for eBay Canada and USA, it remembers by IP address. But there is an clear button to removed the recent searches made so hopefully the recent searches will not influence current results. Other sites have a clear button all but it is in different languages. Once you know the pattern to the home page display (the same across most of the sites I mention above), you can clear the past searches.
Now I searched for PJ items and could not find it unless I changed to North America search on eBay.com yesterday. So it was a glitch for that item.
With all the changes to eBay in search, it is possible that some items are getting lost. It has happened in the past. I will bulk edit my listings just in case.

I have logged out and cleared cache - I have logged in - I have tried EVERYTHING.
When I had the team leader - we went through example of item numbers and they are NOT showing on their end either. There is a problem and people need to call in.
ebay ticket number I was given was #1-5177051070. If sellers reference that number - this should help expedite the process.
Just revising it works only for minutes - then it does not work again or some other item number don't show.

discrepancy of 200 plus items.
This is the last example I will post.
I posted it so that All Canadian sellers can report and help themselves...this is all I can do and I can only worry about how to fix my listings at this point.
Best of luck to all that are affected.

I have been in contact with Kalvin from ebay.ca and he does see the same problems that we see so he definitely has someone looking into it.
simplyt, I notice that in the last 2 posts you are comparing on .com the number of listings that a seller shows when you click on see other items as compared to when you specifically search for a seller under advanced. That should make it easier for everyone to figure out if they have any items missing on .com although it won't tell them which items.
Another suggestion...putting your items on vacation for a few minutes and then off again should help to reset them too.
