Don't believe you can open any kind of selling account without a credit card for identification purposes

You need a credit card.  You might (stress the might) be able to use a security credit card (one where you deposit money to get the card), but it'll have to be one where you have to identify yourself to get it.  Money Mart cards won't do.

Are you kidding me?  I have 3 accounts (1 store and 2 non-store) that I opened without credit cards!!  Who say that we must have credit cards in order to open an account at any time?

I would think bank account would sufficient enough.  Thanks.

Unless this is a posting ID, always a possibility, you may be allowed to sell a few items before the demand for more formal identification comes up.

Among other reasons, eBay wants the card so they can charge thier fees to it, if you don't have enough in either your bank or Paypal accounts. Which is also why most prepaid cards are not acceptable.
