Hello everyone,
Welcome to our weekly chat. This week, the thread will remain open until tomorrow as usual.
Note: we have another thread going for questions & comments around the 2016 Fall Seller Update. Please keep posts on that topic for that thread so that other users can benefit from the information. Thanks!
Open issues:
- CA Shopping cart erroneously applying free shipping on multiple orders (under investigation)
- Automotive listings losing images when changing duration to GTC
- Best Offer on listings that didn't have it in the first place (need examples)
- Request Total unavailable
Updates:
- Errors when uploading more than one tracking number at a time (repeated, erroneous numbers saved) - Ticket has gone dormant. Will move off the list until new reports show the issue is still occurring.
- Anchor Store coupon not working/only working on AU site - Issue has been identified and is being worked on between eBay and PayPal. In the meantime CS has been provided with tools to help affected sellers with a work around.
- Printer friendly Order Details page missing items - Resolved - fix rolled out or to roll out soon.
- Selling limits live items count discrepancy - We are investigating further.
- Missing Tracked Packet destinations - still no update from PayPal and Pitney Bowes
- Combined shipping offers not shown to international buyers - ticket open
If anything is missing, please let me know. Thanks!

Good afternoon Raphael.
The last question has raised last week was about the Traffic Reports available to eBay stores until early last year (they were produced by Omniture under contract from eBay).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJTrIMBz1Dw
At that time eBay advised us a new better tool would be available within a few months.
A year later... NOTHING.
For the past year, there is a link for eBay store owners to Traffic Reports.
It states "We no longer support traffic reports through Omniture, a third-party website. We are working on a new way to provide traffic reports, so please check back later. "
On your last message last week you indicated that you had no update. Seriously?
More than a year later and eBay has no update? Should sellers keep waiting for a replacement or has eBay made the decision to save money and not replace that tool?
I do not mean to be rude but.... really.... is that what we should expect from eBay considering you have raise store fees very substantially?

Good afternoon, Raphael.
I added another post to the Fall Seller Update and I was going to grill you on something related to the postal strike but all that is (mostly) settled so HOORAY! Here are my remaining questions for Board Hour today:
1. Apologies. Last week, I brought you a problem about Best Offer and then misunderstood your directions. In the meantime, I doscovered it was changing my Handling Time which has reset all my Best Offer auto-declines to none. Why is this the case? Like, what is the reason that a change to a shipping method or service (like handling item) knocks off all currrent Markdowns as well as elimating Best Offer auto-actions? I don't really see how the matters are related so I would appreaciated learning the rationale behind it. http://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Best-Offer-Auto-Decline-Reset-as-a-Side-Effect-to-Changin...
2. What is NetNeutrals? https://www.netneutrals.com/Home.aspx Some of us found reference to it in one of the Feedback Revision Help Pages and got our knickers in a twist over it. http://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/WHAT-IS-NETNEUTRALS-AND-DOES-THIS-MEAN-WE-NOW-HAVE-TO-PAY...
Thank you,
Maureen

Good Afternoon, Beautiful day here in the neighbourhood
Sorry but I also am interested in a response to Pierre's question. Raphael, we live in Ont. we are already bent over from all forms of gov. including Hydro One can't ebay give us a few more crumbs for the store increases, we just keep hearing of things being taken away, yet the executive is drooling over going forward how great it is for sellers. What can you share with us on some "near future" goodies for sellers? Please, something positive other than new sellers hub as that will also "have growing pains" = seller pains. Not being neg. based on ebay's past performance.

I agree. ebay sellers have been raked over the coals this summer with sales revenue slumps due to the postal uncertainly and complicated currency site changes (for some) while facing increased costs for ebay stores subscriptions. I'd appreciate a goodwill gesture that isn't a kick in the pants for dessert.

Yes, throw us a bone, any old bone will do.
Here's one suggestion: how about exempting Canadians from the on-time delivery policy if they offer free shipping? Hm?

How about NO FVF on shipping period until your store subsciption (sp) is up for renewl. As we all know whatever agreement CP/CUPW reached, we'll all be paying for it come January when the rates go up because they can. (back is hurting) 🙂 from bent over Ont.

We badly need clarification on the new demand for UPC codes on all listings.
Those of us who sell vintage goods are often selling products produced before UPC codes were available.
Then there are anomalies like the demand for UPC codes on sewing patterns, when the listing form (dotCA and dotCOM) will not accept the bar code on the package.
And the ongoing problem in Books, where the only ISBN numbers accepted are from American publishers. So that British, Canadian and Australian editions with ISBN numbers can only be listed as Not Applicable.
The NOT APPLICABLE option has to remain.
And if a seller decides she won't use it, well it's her decision to forego the extra viewability the code allows on Google.

Or one month free on Stores Subscriptions.
Or maybe a coupon to spend anywhere on ebay in an amount equal to one month of stores subscription. I'm certain most sellers are buyers too. When sales slump for me, so do my purchases on ebay from other sellers. Stimulate this ebay micro-economy with a few free bucks to say, thank you for sticking it out! It's not like Canadians still have access to ebay Bucks or something.
Dream on.

Is anyone here even close to losing trs from on time delivery? I would hate to admit staff were right, but I went from always having 2-3 defects per ID, to never having a sinlge late delivery defect since the new scheme started. Thats wiith 99% non tracking/impatient buyer demographic

Nope. I'm not. But, more importantly, I quit offering Small Packet Airmail as an option in favour of only Tracked Packet. As a preventative measure. I can't say it harmed my USA sales much but it has certainly slowed any $15 orders to UK and overseas. Cutting off my nose to spite my face is what other sellers would call it but I prefer to play it safe. I am twitchy about these things as many of you may have already guessed. I sleep better at night when I know that my outgoing parcels are tracked. No joke.

Hi Raphael,
If eBay really wants to benefit and compensate eBay.ca sellers for increased store subscription fees they should design a "coupon" for "general use" and not for overpriced shipping supplies that most sellers won't get much use out of.
eBay Sellers that have a Basic Store Subscription can't really use their coupon because of the "low" value of the coupon. eBay Sellers with a Premium Store subscription still have to pay out of pocket because the coupon still won't cover the entire cost.
I can go to my local Staples store and purchase exactly what I need for a fraction of the price.
An eBay coupon or store credit should be used for general use, purchasing whatever we want or desire, like the "eBay bucks" program they had set up a few years ago.
If I'm going to reinvest in eBay I would like to purchase what I want on eBay and not for shipping supplies that I will never get any use out of.....
Thanks,
Derrick

All my items are made by me & as such no UPC exist. I sell in Motors Parts & Accessories, Currently I put "Doesn't Not Apply" but according to the seller update as of 2017 that will not be an option.. What is the plan for sellers like me.
BTW Raphael did you make any headway on the migration issue I'm having?

Hi Pierre,
I wish I could tell you more, but until I get word from the Stores team about this, I really do not have an update on traffic reports for Store pages. As soon as I hear anything, I'll let you and everyone else know.

" until I get word from the Stores team about this"
A year later!
Maybe you should have your boss call their boss and get an answer. The phone lines still work to California and it would only take a few minutes to answer a question raised more than a year ago.

Hi Maureen,
1) Obviously it shouldn't do that. What tool did you use to change your handling time? I just checked one of your listings at random, 331556641032. This one doesn't have anything set in terms of automatic refusal or acceptance of best offers. Is it supposed to be that way? The listing has a tremendous amount of revisions logged, most of them are sales starts and ends. I have a hunch that this may be what is causing the BO to change.
Let's start with what was the tool you used to revise (SYI? Bulk edit? The new selling tool?) and I'll take it from there.
2) NetNeutrals is a US service that sellers can hire to independently review FB they received. As far as I know it is made available because certain FB could constitute grounds for legal action in the US, not necessarily the case in Canada. I apologize but I don't know much more about it other than their decisions are final and binding (they decide whether the FB gets removed).

Only a year? As a buyer only I remember many years ago reading after the points program was discontinued that something exciting was in the offing to make the 'experience' more pleasurable. We're still waiting!
Maybe it was the dreaded GSP?

Thank you, Raphael. The listing you checked 331556641032 used to have a parameter to refuse any offer under a certain amount. Virtually all my Best Offer items do, but I set my handling time back to same-day this morning so they were all wiped away again. Until I go back and rest them one by one, none will auto-decline or auto-accept. Which is too bad since that would be a nice tool to have as part of the Bulk Editor to, for example, be able to bulk set your BO items to auto-accept anything within a certain per cent (for example) range of the initial asking price. A change to shipping service has dumped Markdowns for as long as I can remember, so that's nothing new.
I used the Bulk Editor to do so. If you check the first link to the post I mentioned, you'll see it looks like this:
As to NetNuetrals, does that mean it is unavailable in Canada?
