Bidder doesn't want the item...what to do???

Hi there,

I just had an auction close, and soon after I sent payment info etc, I received an email back saying that her daughter had put the bid in, without her knowledge and "sorry for the inconvenience". The bidder has zero feedback and registered months ago. Is there a way to request fees back without waiting to do a NPB report? Thanks in advance for all your help!!

No other way. This was a discussion that I brought up a little while back (2 weeks ago) when the person wanted to place a bid but hit the Buy It Now in error.

You will have to tell the buyer what you are doing and they will receive some eBay notices, if they dont want to proceed with purchasing the item.

The other thing is you can ask the buyer to pay you your listing fees and eBay commissions you had to pay and pretend the item sold.

People dont realize that we incur costs when they dont proceed with paying. She has to take some responsibility for her daughter's actions.

How did her daughter get her eBay ID, as an example.

Make sure the 'buyer' realizes that there was a financial cost to you as well as loss of business opportunities for other people to be able to purchase your item and extra work trying to get refund of your fees and commissions from eBay and to relist the item again.

The process of NPB when both the seller and buyer mutually agree to cancel the bid does not take as long as reporting a real non-payer. You dont have to send out 3 and 10 day notices so it can all be accomplished within 1 week.

Generally I ignore the email , and proceed to send them a total . 10 days later I file a NPB report, then 10 days later a FVF . Then I move on
