Buyer wont pay on timehas decided , not asking, to pay for item 7 days after winning.

This is more of a rant about how buyers can do whatever they want on ebay and the buyers hands are tied unless they want their rating to drop. All my ads for my auctions have in bold print that payment is due within three days of winning. Today four days after winning i contacted the buyer asking him to pay for his purchase and he casually  said ill pay Friday,  no reason why. I wouldnt mind if before bidding or even after winning just asking but no just figures whenever  he gets around to it will do....

I noticed you sold two items on Saturday the 13th.

eBay gives buyers four (4) days to pay.

Considering yesterday was a holiday in the USA and most of Canada, four business days would be Friday the 19th.

Be patient.  Do not sweat the small stuff.

Sometimes people move money to PAYPAL after they buy, and depending on how they do it, I believe it can take a few days to arrive.

I just had a regular buyer who delayed payment for 4 days while he was awaiting the $$$ to get from his bank account to PAYPAL. (he is in Canada).

Having said this, I have personally never moved money to PAYPAL so it is possible these are just the stories folks are feeding me who are taking longer to pay.

(I have noticed folks outside north america often take 4-7 days to pay, I'm assuming they are doing the same thing).

Just keep in mind that ebay policy trumps anything you have in your listing. It can be a bit frustrating waiting for payment, but be glad if you don't receive an echeck, which can take even longer to clear. In general it helps to keep in mind some buyers have to transfer funds from a bank account and those times are variable. If it really bothers you, you can gear your unpaid item assistant down to the minimum number of days.

I suspect that part of the problem is your demographic.

Collectors of action figures tend to be youngish (15-35) and male in my experience, which is mostly looking at tables selling such at geek markets and SF cons.

So your customer has a limited income whether it is his allowance, wages from fast food, or setting up a new household.

By recognizing this you will have a lot less stress.

Just set your Seller Preferences to open an automatic Unpaid Item Dispute after four days. That's the earliest you can in any case.

And lose the 'three day ' demand. It is not enforceable and will make the few who see it likely to backbutton away from an unfriendly seller.

"The few" because your customer is likely to be shopping on his phone and not seeing all of your listing.

BTW: Did you copy your exclusions for shipping from another dealer?

Because, there is no extra charge for shipping to Hawaii or Alaska from Canada.

The exclusion of PO Boxes by some US sellers is because they use UPS or other courier shipping and couriers can't deliver to PO Boxes, which are the safest destination address.

APO are military addresses and would include a lot of customers in your demographic.
