Buying from India

It would seem that a Seller in Surat India has set up a number of sub-accounts selling Moissanite Jewellery. Item is advertised as .925 Silver and it is not. he Prices are starting at  $0.99 and yet there is either a preset price point that the seller will not sell at and even when you wait to the last minute and bid under $10.00 an automatic bid pops up raising it. I was advised by one of the sellers that "you will not buy it under $16.50". Why waste everybody's time if that is the case. Why waste everybody's time by not setting a starting price that is realistic.

I have been stopped from bidding by sellers that I never bought from  because they fear that their manipulation is costing them money in fees.

E-Bay is probably losing more customers than gaining by such unscrupulous sellers.

this and many items that are not shipped at all is what is turning me off  E-Bay.  Fakes, Non-Shipment and just plain manipulations.

There is a Report button on every listing. All eBay will give you is a polite note thanking you for helping police the site. They encourage policing but don't want to encourage vigilantes.

This doesn't mean they do nothing. If you put some of those items on your Watch List, you may find the sellers suddenly become "Not A Registered User". Which means eBay shut them down.

The market for silver (and gold)is international. Indian manufacturers pay the same for silver as Canadians. So a 99 cent item is obviously not going to be sterling-- no matter how low the manufacturer's labour costs are.

Start Searching with "Highest Price and Shipping First". It is easier to drill down through a hundred items to your price point, than to wade through thousands of fake and misdescribed low priced items.
