Canada Post warns of fake parcel emails

July 28: "New emails using Canada Post’s name or brand are circulating, inviting customers to either click a link or open a document to obtain their tracking information."

More details on the Canada Post website.

If you are not expecting a parcel, handle email with care.

Real Canada Post emails should include the tracking number and you can just go to the www.canadapost.ca website to enter the number to see the shipping details.

Canada Post warns of fake parcel emails

Thanks for the tip.

The last time that trick was tried, I stood in line behind an irate, confused customer at the postal counter who was asking the worker 'what and where this parcel was'. They had obviously received that email. (There was a hard copy of it in her hand.) The worker either had not read the internal memo form CPC about the scam, or none had been issued. She hadn't a hot clue.

Here's hoping the front-line workers are kept in the loop this time around.
