Does anyone know how much Canadian customs and duty charges would be for a central vac hose/attachements kit (~US $400)? I'm a Calgary, Alberta, Canada resident.
Thank you.

If sent by mail and checked by customs it would be
GST + $9.95 service charge.
If sent by courier it would be more.
If sent by GSP , Don't know but it should show on the auction listing.

Hi kab - I am right next door in BC and I was warned about the sellers in the USA who say "no duty charges" because they declare the item as a "GIFT" which does not require duty... however, they can say that but we still might get dinged for Duty when Customs people see that a certain shipper is sending 100s or 1000s of "gifts" - Customs gets suspicious and charges the duty to us, the buyer.
That is a problem when the cost of the item, plus shipping, might seem reasonable - but without Duty charges - and then oops it isn't as good a deal as we thought when Duty is tacked on.
PS - did you ever figure out exactly how much the Duty/Customs fees, taxes, etc will add up to? [percentage]
