I sold two stamps sets (two separate listings) to the same person. Due to an error I made when creating the listing, the system will not allow me to create a single invoice for the transaction. I phoned Ebay, and they said that the only remedy is for the buyer to pay for the two separate transactions, and then I refund the difference. I always print my shipping labels on line, but does this mean I have to ship them separately, and then refund the difference? I'm assuming that is the case.
Thanks

I think I figured it out. If I am looking at the right listings (winning bidder has 12 feedback) one of the listings was done in Canadian $ and the other in U.S. $ so there is no way that the two items can be combined into one invoice. As Pierre mentioned earlier, both items must be in the same currency.
I think that the simplest thing to do would be to put 0 shipping on one invoice and then the shipping amount for both items on the other invoice. That way, the buyer pays for the right shipping, you don't have to refund them and you are not charged fees on the original shipping amount.
When you print the label, just add the other item to the information on the custom form. I think that you can add up to 5 or 6 items.

I agree this is the easiest thing for the OP to do at this point if he has a buyer who isn't being very communicative. The only thing the OP should watch for is that the buyer doesn't ignore the fact (or not realize) that there are two invoices to pay. A friendly follow-up note might be necessary.

For the OP's reference (for future) when I've had a really large order I've actually added more than the 6 allowed by combining similar items of the same price in one descriptive entry and showing the number of items as 2 or 3, etc. at that price.

Sharp eyes, "pj" - I didn't catch that (I'll blame getting old) - thank you. Of course you are right and your work-around sounds like the right one.

If the buyer has not paid.....
Send an invoice using Paypal... and have the invoice in US dollars, and US dollars only... if buyer lives in the US.
US dollars for both purchases and with shipping also in US dollars.
Buyer pays, and mark both listings as paid
