Does anyone know how I can get Canada Post to leave me a notification for pick-up card instead of delivering my parcel to my house? I bought a gift for someone in my family and don't want them to find out.

Canada Post doesn't make it easy to interfere with delivery mode. The hold option is available but costs 20 bucks for 10 days.

As heidilynn0_3 suggests, Canada Post hold will cost you $$$.
Maybe you can arrange with the members of your household to
DON'T TOUCH your parcel PLEASE & THANK YOU. Maybe that
would be the easier way.
