Does the seller have an obligation to cancel a bid if the buyer requests them to do so?

I have a bidder that bid on an item I have for auction on ebay, and they bid 3 days ago. I just received a message telling me to cancel the bid because they didn't mean to bid on it. With this information do I have an obligation to cancel the bid? It sounds to me like he has just changed his mind and he is now being very rude. I just want to know what my rights are as a seller. He is threatening with filing complaints and such, but I also don't think it is right that I have to cancel because he changed his mind and he claims he had no intention on bidding on the item. Help?

Thanks.

You don't have to cancel but I would.

It is better than having a disgruntled buyer who can leave negative feedback.

I would also put them on your "Blocked Bidder List"

The prudent course is to always acquiesce  to a buyer's cancel request and then block as *katz suggested.
