It probably depends more on whether you are selling "one of" or if you have multiples available.
Because I have a substantial inventory of most items that I sell, a "store" has been a worthwhile effort for me. I have recently seen an upsurge in multiple purchases for both Halloween and Xmas items. Its just not the same if you only have one of an item.
By the way, my sales have jumped almost 30% in the last two weeks so the buyers are definitely starting to come back. I attribute the increase to my early kick-off for Xmas sales. I have also had fairly substantial Halloween sales although that part is starting to wind down a little now. So don't despair - I'm sure its just a matter of days before you have all the business you can handle. :<)

I use my store as an inexpensive "on-line warehouse". I don't have huge expectations for sales, but I know that items sitting in my eBay room sure don't stand a chance of getting sold. So I have them sitting in my store in their categories at 6 cents a month each - peanuts!
Then, every once in a while I switch them into auctions and BIN's through Turbo Lister. They are all set up, just ready to go. Lately I have been selling out of my store.
I am having my best two months ever on eBay so look ahead and take advantage of whatever resources you can find - for the least amount of money. No one is cheaper than me!

I've been thinking about a store but I don't have a bunch of duplicates of anything -- mostly a lot of low-end items in one collectible category. Sort of a "beginner set" to get started! I guess it's time to give it a try.
