FYI - Glitch in pre-filled information listings.

After a lengthy conversation on Ebay live help, there is apparently no solution to this glitch other than not to use it. It doesn't always happen, but can happen randomly and is not correctable.

If you list a book, VHS, DVD or CD using the pre-filled info system (enter UPC or title and photos and descriptions are entered into your auction automatically) Certain item specifics are "pre-filled" including Starring role for movies, authour for books. After entering all your terms, template, etc you want to create another listing where everything is the same except the movie or book.

Hit sell similar and when you get to the description page, click on change movie (book). Choose the new one and save. Now all the pre-filled information and photos are changed EXCEPT sometimes the second specific field: starring role/authour stays the same!

This is the only glitch I have found in this system so far. Otherwise I love it because it saves time, has more in-depth descriptions including reviews, eliminates need to scan and upload photos,, etc.

Tried relisting - still there. Let's hope this gets repaired. It's ok to start every listing from scratch if you're only selling a few, but for large volumes and daily relistings, its' not practical.

Lovely...Thanks for the heads up.

I remember last year eBay took a hiatus from implementing new features (read "screwing things up") around the pre-Christmas busy season. Seems even if they decide to do this again, there's enough malfunctioning "improvements" to dampen the Christmas selling season. You'd really think that they'd test these new features a little better before unleashing them.
